This is Oliver Writer. Does it look like a Parker 75?

On opening the section is identical to a Waterman Expert but thinner.

I think it looks like Pelikan Future ( or any other model? I am not sure).

Lamy & Pilot FPs the Best

No more I even think of the rest

(Preference Fine and Extra Fine Nibs)

Pen is meant for writing - not for looking :-)

Interesting thread , thanks for sharing

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Thanks for resposes. You know, though I am a fountain pen user from my childhood till this age I am aware of Sailor, Pelikan and Lamy through this forum only. That is for just more than two years. When I first saw a Parker 51 I was wondering why they made it like hero! Blame it on the part of the world I am living.

The first time I saw MB's was in the mid'60's when I moved to Germany...ugly old fashioned clumpy things....not quite so ugly as a Pelikan but close. And for 'foreign' Junk, they wanted more for a gold plated trim than a Sheaffer Snorkel with rolled gold trim. :yikes:

 

"Best German pen' Big deal!!!...it wasn't a Parker or a Sheaffer. That was back in the day of the Almighty Dollar and tiny cheap under powered BMW's and Mercedes....cornering was a foreign word to Americans.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

Its surprising how very similar some of the pens look.

I hope this thread continues.

 

How hard is it to get a Hero 850? I got nuthin on an eBay search. Nice looking pen. Ditto on its original the Parker T1, but I'm guessing those go pretty dear, and also I found nothing on eBay.

The Oliver pen looks similar to Dux pen. I found this on Avenue Road.

Mesu, you are buying the whole packet of pens? Starting pen shop?

 

 

Ha ha.. very funny.

 

I purchased this in Avenue road where i can get 5 pens (if i take the box) for the price quoted for single pen. As these are low cost, i thought why not.

REFORM AND BISMI

 

Bismi is ( was) a Kerala company existed from around late seventies to early nintees. I surprised to see one of its pens having similarity to a Reform pen of mine. I don’t know the model, but it’s an NOS.

Reform is a piston filler, while Bismi is an eyedropper.

OPEN VIEW.

I suspect that both these pens should have a “ common ancestor”. Any thoughts?
