PARKER 21 AND BISMI 21

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190937_zpsf2f14e34.jpg

Bismi is a pen company of yesterdays. We students of Kerala almost always starts writing with a Bismi pen. Some affordable students have Heros!
This pens cap is marked as Bismi 21. Caps are interchangeable but pen is an eyedropper.

Old pen shows damage.

PARKER 45 AND CAMLIN 45

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191328_zps9e099361.jpg

This is Camlin 45 pen. Its strikingly similar to Parker 45.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191349_zpsfcc7d2f5.jpg

But the similarity ends on opening!
It becomes a hooded pen like 51. A CAMLIN 451!.
Its an aerometric filler.

SHEAFFER NN AND GAMA NN.

OPEN VIEW.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190922_zpsfab34377.jpg

Gama NN uses the original NN nib!
Gama NN have a double layer barrel- inside a plastic and outside steel. Very sturdy built. Actually better built than original ! ( and pricier also). But its an eyedropper.

SHEAFFER NN AND HERO B 330.
http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190807_zps59eb24b2.jpg

They are very similar in size. The photo may cheat you!
http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190822_zpsa2026daf.jpg
Internally B330 is like a View point with a rubber grip section.

SHEAFFER TARGA AND FLAIR .

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191447_zps823db79c.jpg

UNKNOWN FLAIR PEN.

It looks like a Targa- I know that the nib is difficult to make- but some how Flair people have managed to do it. And one more company called Platinum ( not the Japan company Platinum, this is an Indian Platinum of past) have also made this nib for their Imperial copy. Unfortunately the shopkeeper thinks that it is Japanese Platinum and asking high rate for it- I was not able to buy.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191507_zps8f819fc0.jpg

UPPER ONE IS TARGA – THE LOWER IS FLAIR.

SAILOR, RITTER AND FELLOWSHIP.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190416_zpsdc932d2e.jpg

RITTER , SAILOR 1911.

Ritter is surprisingly similar to a Sailor in shape. Its well built – not acrylic but quality plastic.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190630_zpsf049dd0c.jpg

RITTER AND SAILOR OPEN.

Unlike other Indian pens its converter filled .

Nib size is No. 91/2. Marked as Iridium Point Germany and writes very fine ( may be extra fine).

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190549_zpsde18e73c.jpg

RITTER, SAILOR, FELLOWSHIP.

Unlike Ritter, Fellowship is not exactly similar- its slender and longer.

CAPS. See the white dot on Fellowship . Are they trying imitate Montblanc rather than Sailor?

WATERMAN HEMISPHERE AND BAOER(?)
http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130617_140905_zpsad43e72b.jpg

Confused? The one above is the real Hemishere. http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130617_141002_zps43badb67.jpg
The other pen have no name but nib is Baoer. So I think that the pen may also be Baoer.

PARKER 51 AND GAMA ROYALE

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191855_zps0920bd34.jpg

Gama Royale .

OK, agreed, its not an exact copy. But some design cues are taken from Parker 51 , I think. See the clutch ring and the top jewel.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191924_zps501e42d5.jpg

It has a 14 kt gold nib too.

SWAN COPIES

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191527_zps6a341a93.jpg

These pens are copies of Indian made Swan of some seventies ( I think).Blue one is a Scriptor and Black is a Camlin .Well , if you don’t get originals , these are still available.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_191706_zpsef6b37e3.jpg

“SWANS” opened.
Unfortunately I don’t have original one to compare.

FLAIR MAJESTIC AND CHELPARK MOTI.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190644_zps98a1df44.jpg

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w583/mohancv/20130615_190705_zpsa019927b.jpg

The blue one is Flair Majestic pen which hit market around 1990. and the black one is Chelpark Antic introduced in aroud 1992 or 1993. ( Correct me if I am wrong) .
Flair was better built , more costly and a catridge pen, Chelpark antique is an eyedropper and less costly.
While Flair majestic was not able to become a success even with better materials, Chelpark Antic was run out of production only recently.
But do you think that these are original designs? I don’t think. Probably more experienced persons can help.

Thanks for reading

Mohan. And please contribute more to this topic!

Right down to the initial [here "G" rather than "MB"] inside the star.

Thanks for a well-done photo documentary,

Thanks for resposes. You know, though I am a fountain pen user from my childhood till this age I am aware of Sailor, Pelikan and Lamy through this forum only. That is for just more than two years. When I first saw a Parker 51 I was wondering why they made it like hero! Blame it on the part of the world I am living.
