Platinum Preppy Highlighter Issues

Okay, this isn't a pen problem as it is a highlighter problem. I bought the Platinum Preppy Highlighter that you can refill because it's cheaper and more environmentally friendly than having to buy highlighter after highlighter. Unfortunately, the pen only worked for two paragraphs before it decided that it was too good to use the rest of the highlighter ink (Noodler's Golden Pig). Does anyone know what's causing this?

I think some folks haven't run into problems with Golden Pig, but I've had it clog a couple of Preppy highlighters. I tried soaking the nib units in water to no avail, so I simply replaced them and used other ink. I like the properties of Golden Pig, however, and I've found that it works ok in some highlighters that I can refill even though they weren't designed for that (eg, one Zebra model)--so I still use the ink but just not in my Preppy pens.

Do you have any recommendations for highlighter ink that'll work or highlighter pens that won't clog?
