Little Dottie who isn't actually my cat but she likes our sofa. She is not too impressed with the Pelikano.

Wonderful cat! And Pelikanos were my first pen love :)

I've had several pups who have curled up and fallen asleep in my suitcases, usually when it's half packed for a trip. I usually take my dogs with me on road trips, so they all know what the suitcase means. My current companion, Winston, sleeps on top of my suitcase while I'm working at my table in my spare room.

Your IG is a very sweet looking pup!

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

My Italian Greyhound who prefers Nakaya:

Are you sure? The Italian Greyhound accent can be pretty strong. Are you sure they're not expressing their love of Visconti...or Delta? Or maybe they're actually a Japanese Greyhound?

Thank you! The suitcase thing is so cute! I don't have a suitcase but my dog almost has a breakdown every time I am getting dressed to go somewhere without him so I bet he would've tried to control the suitcase as well :D Sounds so cozy with Winston on top of the suitcase, staying close while you work :)

He he, he is somewhat fascinated with the Omas Arte Italiana Art Deco pen which we both crave and want, but needy little thing as he is he will only leave me alone and get out of my face if I pick up one of my Nakayas to write. Which leads me to believe there's something special with those ;D

Love that image!

Here is my little iggy Mia ( as in Meerkat! ) who sadly passed away two years ago.

She had a love for destroying squeaky toys, thankfully never pens.

Aaaaaaw what a heartbreaker! You must miss her so much. :( I lost the brother of mine 6 years ago and still miss him. They have so much personality. Mine (name Eaten) is eleven years now.

So many beautiful animals in this thread, wish I could comment on all!

Thank you - she was only nine years. Young in iggy years.

They are cheeky monkeys! Love a performance. And how to get the best position in front of the heater...

Here she is cuddling into my whippet Panda ( the Lamy ABC chewer )

I agree - so many beautiful and loved animals here!

This is Ozzie, one of our 4 cats, and our only remaining pedigree Maine Coon. He confiscates BP's and bats them under our bed so we can't use them. He leaves FP's alone... Last time we retrieved the stuff from under our bed there were 17bp's and 8 of his tinsel balls he loves to play with.

Nine years is very young in iggy years :( Mine is eleven or twelve, never sure, I need to check the pedigree papers :) Beautiful whippet, that Panda!

I love sighthounds cuz they're such drama queens, nothing subtle about their messages :D

Yup, that's a Maine Coon for you -- claiming the smallest *possible* space to call his very own....

We used to have a rescued Maine Coon that was a former show cat. We had him from about the time he was 2-1/2 till about 10, and the whole time we had him, he loved squeezing into boxes about a quarter of his size (he was underweight, but still had the skeletal structure of a full sized Maine Coon). And we had to put his food dish under one of the kitchen bar stools, because he'd apparently spent the first couple of years of his life mostly in cages and carriers. Wish I had been able to get a picture of him spilling out the top of a box that was about 5" x 8" inches, and about 3" high -- he looked totally goofy and was apparently completely contented to be in the box (well, for some definition of "in", anyway).

Byron was a sweetie (even though he was scared of me -- he was definitely my husband's cat). But smart, he was not: he was one of a long line of cats we'd had -- and have -- that get by in this world on their good looks....

Maine Coon's are not very common this side of the pond, but I can fully understand why people get hooked on them.

I do so hope Ozzie gets to grow up. He's not large by Maine Coon standards, but is our biggest cat at the moment despite the fact he's only 18 months old. He had an 'Intersusseption' last year, where some of his intestines telescoped inside another part, and promptly died off due to a lack of blood supply. He had to have about 18" of small intestine removed at 6 months old.

Ozzie, being the runt of the litter, was smaller than the 3 week younger Maine Coon kitten we had from another breeder - Floyd. Floyd was magnificent, a wonderful looking cat, pure smoky grey with strong Maine Coon features and a character to match. Unfortunately Floyd took to hunting rabbits, in a field on the other side of the road. Quick though he was, he had no chance of safely crossing a rush-hour road when he wanted a snack. He died in our arms from a head injury at 14 months old.

Our first Maine Coon kitten, Gryff, died less than a month from his third birthday of a heart attack, that was about 18 months ago. He was becoming magnificent before he died. The tiles around the fireplace in the photo below are 6" square:

Sorry, I'm a bit late to this thread, but maybe might hopefully engender a few more responses. Here's a (typically bad) cell phone photo of Dino, a Yoda eared chihuahua belonging to our grand daughter currently living with us. I have a sneaking suspicion that we may inherit Dino from her, if you know how that works ("inheriting" pets from your kids who cannot maintain the means to keep care of them). He's so sweet with me and anyone else he accepts into the pack (but the first time I met him, he bit me). Unfortunately, as loving as he is with me now, he's mean as a switch to any strangers, and he's a total terror to other doggies, even if many times his size, apparently doesn't appreciate the weight difference as making any advised caution in his aggression. Really unfortunate. Anyway, here he is being sweet with me, and perhaps notice the (shudder!) ball point pen on the left of my shirt pocket as opposed to the well worn Kaweco Sport pen (yay!) to the right. This is a pet and pen thread, right?

Might anyone suggest a successful chihuahua "de-aggression" program that doesn't necessarily require a ball peen hammer?

Kidding aside, as big a PITA that Dino is with his aggressive nature toward strangers, he's been a large comfort to me following the recent loss of Peanut, our chihuweenie. If only he were as sweet with everyone.

I love those ears!

He looks so sweet - how old is he?

Did he perhaps miss out on socializing when he was a puppy?

So sorry to hear about your recent loss - they become such a part of our lives.

Maxi, a Yorkshire, loves to sit in my file boxes studying how to read. Writing with my FPs is not yet his passion.
