That dog is probably going "Hmmm.... Will I get into trouble if I chew on any of these?"

Maybe it's been trained to identify inks by scent to save Tom from having to uncap to find the pen inked with the specific ink he fancies using each time...

Do you think it does 'fetch' to foreign shores? I wouldn't mind a 149 :P Generous pats and a slab of turkey schnitzel would be eagerly administered as a reward.

~ Zuji has a notion of what it's like when he decides to test fountain pens for their suitability as chew toys.

What you've suggested is very, very right — Ha!

With such pleasing rewards, Zuji could be tempted!

Maybe it's time for advanced training in fountain pen ink recognition by sniffing.

Let us know how the training goes! I'll be working on coding scents of succulent turkey schnitzel to trigger Zuji to 'fetch 149 to Scribs' :D

ETA; oh, and also working on the projection of said coded scents...

Here is Buffy, a dog of the orchards. She is reading the price of apples. pears, and cherries. She is definitely contemplating getting into grapes.

At seven, she is an experienced business person and will write her opinions into Fruit Growers News.

That's more impressive than my husband's niece's dog. Davey just writes the annual Christmas letter from Sara and her husband, mostly discussing the foibles of their (human) child.

Hopefully the ink/paint is non-toxic.... Or ultra-fast drying.... Because little kitties invariably object (strenuously) to baths -- and the person making the video probably does not want said little paw to be washed in the normal fashion and having the little paw's owner get sick (I have to be really careful these days and not pet either of ours immediately after using hand lotion, for the same reason).

Or, as my choir director (who did always give hers baths) said as a description of her former fur-babies:

Loki: "HEY! But, but, I'm a *good* cat! :o"

Troll: "Oh, I guess I must have been a BAD cat! :("

Grendel: "I'm going to KILL you!"

ETA: Of course that paw coming down that fast and hard made me think of the old cartoon short "Bambi vs. Godzilla"..... B)

Another picture of Cypher sitting at his favourite spot when I am using the writing desk.

(The electrician working at my place when this picture was taken must have been looking for his missing tape :P)

What sorts of hand lotion are dangerous to animals?

I don't remember, offhand -- I heard about it a while back (I think through someone I know who volunteers at the local no-kill shelter). But it came to mind after seeing the video, since in the past week or so there was a story on the news about some additive to a lot of foods these days which is really toxic to dogs and these people had to have their dog put down because there was no way to save it. :( (Basically, they were warning other pet owners to read labels carefully -- especially if you give your animals "people food". And this addictive made the warnings about dogs and chocolate look pretty benign by comparison).

Buffy the orchard dog looks mighty nice.

Having been in Buffy's area during fruit harvest season, fully half a century ago, I'm sure that's there's much to keep a smart dog occupied.

Thank you for sharing her portrait.

Another portrait of Cypher — Nice!

The striking colors and Cypher's pose with the electrician's tape make a lovely image.

If my Pug Zuji found a roll of electrician's tape, he'd be chewing it with zest.

Thank you for another excellent photo.

No better tribute to your Soffi's memory than such a photograph.

The luminosity and focus are the gold standard.

Thank you for letting us appreciate the energy Soffi had.

This spectator took an interest in my handwriting practice, and took away my desk space as well. Parker 51 in hand.
