Tight/snug Parker 51 Lustraloy Caps

Hi I need some advice from the Parker 51 experts please

I have a NOS Parker 51 Vac Fill and another that is NM. On both these pens the Lustraoly caps are very tight and so much so that when taking the caps off I believe they are scratching the barrel above the clutch ring. Is this the case because there is some shrinkage in the cap after decades of non use. Is the anything that I can apply to make the caps a bit smoother to take on and off.

Metal caps don't shrink with age. Probable the caps aren't original. Can you post some pictures?
