I hesitated for several years before acquiring a Kobe ink, because I balked at the price.  Finally, I was was buying a bottle as a thank-you gift for someone else and decided to add the ink I coveted (Suma Purple) to the order.  Since then, I have often reflected that, had I bought the Kobe ink earlier, I would have  saved the considerably greater amount of money that I'd spent on other, individually less expensive inks in the quest for the perfect purple.
