Mercedes Benz Pen Case?

I've been looking for a good leather pen case to hold three pens, without being bulky enough to hold twice that many. I came across this case earlier: http://shop.mercedes-benz.com/mbauk/vp/Collection/Personal-accessories/Leather-und-luggage/Pen-case-Unisex/ANX-B66041480/OfferList/ggmsEB.ojtIAAAE61cQiGg1E It is available on the US website for $44, but this site has better pictures. It looks slim, and with the brand I assume it would be quality. has anyone had any experience with this case? Or can anyone recomend me a case that is similar?

I want a case that zips closed so there are no chances of a pen slipping out, but again, I don't want it to be any bigger than necessary to hold three moderately sized pens. I plan to carry a Waterman Perspective, a Waterman Charleston and my newly completed C. E. Lewis Colossus which is clipless. I really like the fabric 3-pen case from Franklin-Christoph, but I'm worried it will be bigger than I want. I have a FC 20 pen case that is fantastic.

Thanks for any suggestions or comments!

It looks like the pens may rub against each other and result in micro scratches. I would suggest a pen case which has individual elastic pen loops to hold the pens. This prevents the pens from moving around unnecessarily. Maybe you can use one of the leather cigar cases. They fit the pocket and will also protect your pens.

I agree with subramaniyam. I used to have a zipper case, but I'm also worried about micro scratches (whether justified or not).

I recently bought a Pelikan 3 pen case that's really slim (for what it is). I'm a pretty nice case, though I think the leather on the FC cases look nicer. It's also not a zipper case, but the flap fits very snugly. I can only imagine a pen falling out if I was doing jumping jacks while shaking the case vigorously during an earthquake.

If you want a practical, slim case that will fit 3 pens, I suggest the Pelikan.

Also, I'm not sure if the Mercedes brand necessarily means quality. They're in the business of making cars, not pen cases; this doesn't mean that their cases are bad, I just don't know if the connection of quality to brand is really there.

subramaniyam and Trebor, I have also been mulling over the connection between brand and quality... if the case was sans the three point logo, the $44 would likely be $14!

And circlepattern, I live in rural ky so I seriously don't have a local store... btw, nice avatar...suits you :)

The Pelikan cases have caught my eye, but I still like the book style of a zippered case... do the Pelikan case's dividers go the full depth of the case?

Thanks!

Yes, they do. They're also attached only to the "back wall" of the pen case and not the front "wall" (kind of lacking a better term here). This means that the dividers can move around. You can sort of see what I'm talking about in this pic (taken from this thread).
