Anyone had any experience with this pen?

I saw it today, selling for $6 at a local shop. It says 22k nib, but I couldn't believe how it could be so cheap.

On one side I thought I'll buy it, but I figured I ask here first.

Alright, I figured $6 wouldn't hurt, so I went ahead and bought one. Will post my experience once I ink it up.

i have the 389 (slightly diff) and it writes well... like a nail as firm, but it's ok.

as Hari pointed out, GP for gold plated -almost nothing.

Ok, GP=gold plated. Couldn't expect more for that price.

I think I saw the 389 as well, it has a slightly more gold trim.

I thought maybe it can't be really a gold pen with 22 K.Because it's really too cheap .But you can try it .cuz it's really very cheap .By the way ,do you know what is Karat gold mean ?

I had a DUKE PEN with 8k gold plated .DUKE No .89B Dream-2(i will show you picture latter ).it cost me about $45 .and it's really a gold pen .However ,I thought the pen you shared just like DUKE PEN 96A Art fountain pen .Not a gold pen ,but the nib had "22K".And just sell 88RMB in the shopping center .

Now picture 's time .

Best Regard

hi, Vivi. i missed out buying one of those Duke Dream-2 back when isellpens had them with a real gold nib. i ended up buying the Steel nib one later on ($5 from goldquill.com, now out of business), but it is quite smooth -maybe too smooth for my liking.

I've had good luck with the 385 and 389; same nail nib and very consistent. They usually sell for $12 or so at ebay, so $6 is a good deal.
