A Great Pen for $50-$90

I had one fountain pen for about twenty years. You might just like the one, despite what these crazed miscreants insist on telling you. :D

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

Bwa hahaha

It wouldn't hurt to eventually get all three of them. I mean, you could, for example, get the Parker "51" now. Maybe several months, or even a year later, you'd consider getting yourself a Cross Century II, and so on.

That's how a lot of us accumulate pens anyhow. It's a long-term thing, never a "I'll have this and this and this" all on the one week*

Lol, I may get the Cross Century and Parker "51". I hope I don't though :). I don't want to spend too much money :P. I'm an audiophile too... so I gotta save money for headphones too =].

Well, think of it this way. If you buy a few, it will be because you really like them and they give you pleasure, so the money will be well spent.

I think you're very sweet!! :bunny1:

The fact that you're already inquiring for a fountain pen (FP) over a cheap ballpoint (BP) may indicate that you have a knack for writing; and that's the wonder and delightful thing about FP's, each has its own personality. :)

I hope I don't :)

Oh yes, you will :P

I started out just like you, wanting to have just *ONE* P51 to see how it works after reading all the hype WRT it.

I ended up with three  . A GF-capped Aero, a Lustralloy-capped Aero and a GF-capped Vac <_< (# 3-5 from L-R in the pic below)

Forget it, if you're also getting into high end stereo (try to call a stop at headphones, you may have no idea where this leads), then DJ 51s, even 9Kt Presidentials, are of no consequence. My old college bud has 50 plus kilobucks invested (???) in his stereo system. And he makes me listen to it whenever I visit (after the requisite three hour warm up, and then I have to sit in the "sweet spot" and listen to the proper "high end" disks that generally eschew the tonal scale). So I jam it to him by asking for some decent bass (note, no bass or treble "fiddling" knobs on "high end" stereo  ). You could do well by going hog wild with FPs, and drop the stereo addiction. ;)

Yup, it started with just one for me too. A black Aero with Lustraloy cap... now look at them...

I've got another one on the way as well, and a constant tab with Ernesto for parts...

All I wanted to do was see how they worked.... you REALLY can't go wrong with a "51"
