Salz Bros. Peter Pan Eyedropper

After years of lusting and rolling my eyes at their prices, I finally snagged myself an affordable (and quite amazing) Peter Pan FP. So here's my "review" of it, though it's mainly just pictures and me saying "LOOK AT THIS!".

It's 2.5" long capped, 2.0" uncapped, and 3.0" posted. The nib is TINY.

That's the pen's tiny nib compared to a #6 TWSBI Micarta Nib. And yep, it is a reverse oblique (though I'm not sure if it was intentional or just the nib grinder saying "good enough" that day). But it is certainly the original nib configuration.

LOOK AT THAT LINE VARIATION!!

 

This nib must be size –1, and yet it still has plenty of variation and, honestly, at fairly little effort.

 

I love this pen! If you find one in good condition at a fair price, I think it's a must have for any collection.

I've been playing with it for a few days now and I've come to the expanded conclusion that this pen is still FREAKING AWESOME!

 

You do have to adopt an odd grip to really get the most out of it, but really it's just a variation of my normal grip. I terms of flexibility I would rate it as being flexible*. The nib, as I mentioned, is a very subtle-but-deliberate reverse oblique stub, though the tip is so small that it effectively is a fine tip when writing non-flexed script.

 

Ink capacity is hilariously small (far less than 1.0 mL. I'll measure it proper next it needs refilling).

*I've adopted the seemingly preferred ratings system for flex that takes into consideration the amount of pressure needed for maximum line variation (as opposed to line latitude), and have created a (previously derided by me) multi-level scale. The "flexible" designation is just north of the middle of the scale.

Just by hand, but I wish I had the engineering fortitude to design and build some outrageous steam punk machine to measure flexing pressure pressure.
