My Horrible Handwriting And Grip.

Hello! As you can probably tell, This is my first post on this forum. I've come here today because in the recent weeks, I've been doing lots of writing of notes and whatnot for school (In my final year currently) and I've been getting rather ashamed of my handwriting, and especially my pen grip. I've always received comments about my 'chicken scratch' and weird grip but I've never really looked into fixing it, until today (well, tonight).

So, here is a link to an album of pen and pencil writing using my current grip and what I believe is the most common 'proper' grip

Is this 'proper' grip the main one I should be aiming to use effectively if I want to have really nice handwriting? Or are there alternate grip styles that may be better suited to me for adaptation from my current grip? The proper way just feels so weird to me.

And since I'm pretty much learning to write again if I change my grip, is there a specific way to write with the grip that I should start doing now to save more learning later?

Also if it makes any difference I'm a big fan of long elegant tails if there's any everyday handwriting that gives this kind of look? Edit: http://i.imgur.com/NRWgvZY.jpg like this though with shorter t's as they seem a bit overthetop

Hello and welcome to the FPN - Penmanship. I do not think you handing writing here is all that bad. It looks a bit rushed but it is legible.

Pmhudepo has some great links for the classic grip. If that grip doesn't work for you though there are others that could work.

I can't claim to be an expert but this ebook is just amazing for helping to fix hand writing and I post the link often as it seems to cover everything you will need to get started on fixing your hand writing. Good luck and please update us on how you are doing.
