Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki

Okay, I know this ink has been reviewed to death, but I was bored the other day and hadn't done a review in a while, and this was my newest bottle of ink, so I figured what the hey.

Those of you who have this ink know it leans very heavily toward turquoise. Personally, I think that's perfect. I know it's crazy expensive, but between its excellent properties and beautiful color, I really think it's worth having. I'm glad I bought a bottle.

(Actually, to be clear, I bought a sample from the Goulets first to be sure I'd like it. No affiliation and all that, but I think a sample is always a smart way to go if you're not sure about a color. Especially for an ink that costs as much as the Iroshizukus do.)

I think this is next on my list (or Sky High . . . not sure). But I don't have a blue like this and I want one for summer.

A very distinctive blue, and a happy colour. Thanks for reviewing!

Kon-Peki is (IMHO) a blue ink; Ama-Iro is more in the Turqouise camp.

I love them both. I am a fan of vibrant colors, and both of these qualify in spades.

I was referring to Sailor Jentle Sky High which is very close to this in color (and 1/2 price in the US). I think Ama Iro means "Sky Blue."

Thanks, nice review! Not only that you included several comparisons, but that many of those "blues" are by no means "comparable" blues. Great!!

Sky High is indistinguishable, to my eye, from Kon-Peki when written on Staples Arc system paper.

I also think Sky High is a dead ringer. It's a great performing ink as well.

Good to know. I may just get the Sailor. Sailor inks are amazing.

EDIT: just got some specially made carts with Kon-Peki in them that I received with a pen order from Japan. The ink is amazing. I'm kicking myself for not getting a bottle in Japan!

Thank you for this review, djpyle! This is the first ink that I tried out of the usual Parker series that are available in my locality, and I am very happy with it. It is such a distinctive, sunny, happy blue. I invariably get in a lighter mood when I write with it ... and of course, the bottle design is fantastic!

Hi, I have a bottle of pel sapphire, however, it more like purple than blue in your picture, weird. BTW I guess I may have a bottle of sheaffer skrip blue-black than, nice shading according to your pic, thank you.

Regards.

My sample fro Goulet pens will be in tomorrow.

I also have Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku (Peacock) and 2 Private Reserve "Fast Dry" inks coming.

I am a lefty, so I am looking for some inks that dry quickly (best in MY collection so far is Noodler's 54th Massachusetts). I am VERY excited to try these inks!

Same as De Atramentis Sky Blue. That one is also very similar in colour and performance.

Thank you for the review. I'm very fussy about blues, not a fan of mid blues, and tend to prefer greenish blues or greyish blues, but this looks light enough, but saturated enough to be a possibility.

Thanks for your info, I've been thinking to get a bottle of DeA Sky Blue, but found it to be quite light in some review. Guess I'll get a bottle now, because I really love Souten and Kon-peki, but I really want a bottle of scented ink, DeA Sky Blue (Forget Me Not) :)
