Differences Between Lamy Pur And Lamy Cp1?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what the difference between the Pur, CP1, and maybe even the Logo. These pens are all made by Lamy, and are fairly similar in shape and size. Also, it appears they all use the same nib, so if there are any differences that warrants the price difference, I'd love to learn!

Edited for difference between studio and logo.

Aesthetics.

The CP1 and Pur are very similar, but the studio is more shapely and has a very unique propeller-shaped clip.

I own a cp1 and a studio, and the studio is noticeably heavier and thicker than the cp1, which is a very slim pen. I really like the feel of both of them, although they are rather different.

All 3 use the same basic nib model.

The Lamy Pur is a Recent model, made of Aluminum, and this a very light pen. It exists in 2 finishes, a smooth finish and a striped finish. Both have recently been discontinued, but can still be found.

The CP1 has been around since the late 70's, and is currently available in a black finish (with a steel nib) and in a platinum plated finish (with a 14k gold nib). throughout the years, it has been available in many more finishes. It is a heavier pen than the pur, as it is lacquer over metal (the black one anyway).

The studio is positioned a bit higher by Lamy. it is available in many fnishes, some with steel nibs, some with 14k gold nibs.

Help? Why am I buying so many fountain pens?
