Here you go. Would this make it a flex or semi-flex nib?

Shuggy,

Beautiful pen. A writing sample will only allow you to determine the line variation that nib is capable of producing. Please take note you can might be able to get that same line varaition in a slightly flex, medium flex (semi-flex), superflex and wet noodle nib, which are the most flexible nibs. Line variation and flexibility are two independent attributes of a flexible nib. To determine the degree of flexibility in your nib, you will need to determine how much pressure is taking you to spread and arch the nib tines. Having written and used a wide variety of flex nibs, including the most flexible ones will develop your skills in determining what type of flexibility your nib has. For more information on the subject, please refer to the following article ... GRADING FLEX NIBS

The link provided by Mauricio has lots of good information in it.

What precisely is a wet noodle nib?

From Vintagepen.net

"WET NOODLE (Flexibility scale from 81 to 100): The nib tines flex tremendously even with very little to moderate pressure applied. This nib resembles a paint brush."

Is it cheating if I lightly write my words with a mechanical pencil and then go over with the pen & ink, flexing? I'm a lefty and the angle I hold my pen and rotate my paper has made it almost impossible for me to use flex nibs to write "normally" (I *can* use stub nibs properly though)
