The individual pens and sets are now being shipped to boutiques. The Birmingham (UK) boutique has a set on dispalay and a sealed Balzac fountain pen in stock.

I've just bought mine (M) along with two bottles of the ink.

the retail price for the pen is £680.

im not going to get a chance to play with it tonight but the first thing you notice is the book box. It now actually looks like a book and has pages at the front and has page edges throughout the depth of the box. Defiantly the best box in the WE set.

Many congrats with the new purchase.

Hopefully you can give us some more detailed info. After all you are one with all the WE's!

Very nice pen from one of my favorite author.

I had ordered the pen at the Monblanc Boutique in Hanover and now I wait...

My wife called me today to let me know that mine got here along with some ink. I'm still not happy that the new sales person I have to deal with sold the #14 set that I am sure was my pre-order but there is nothing I can do about it now. I miss the old sales lady that I was dealing with. She had my card on file and knew to ship things out as soon as they came in.

Several pictures have been quoted in another forum.

Here's the one concerning the fountain pen.

They match with what I personally saw in MB books.

Of course, some better pics will be less frustrating but...

From the picture I find that if this pen is in your pocket, no body will know that it is a Montblanc pen. The MB LEs do not have the generic MB clip. Also the white star is not visible because of the flat top.

So why pay 850 Euros for it. One should buy a Chinese clone for 3 euros in stead. The writing pleasure with MB is not very much more than with Jinhao etc. Perhaps your MB feels smoother writing because you paid so much for it and you must justify that.

Dear bbbiswas: really? Are you sure you want to start another 'Montblanc bashing' thread? May I then suggest that in your profile you first change your favourite pen from a MB 149 (I trust authentic) to the mentioned Jinhao? :)

Don't get me wrong, there are many great pens other than Montblanc's out there and I own quit a few. This forum is however by nature a forum for people that are (for whatever reason) fans of Montblanc pens. Most of us enjoy the pens for other reasons than status.....

What about William Kotzwinkle, doesn't he deserve a pen?

Why am I having a flashback to a "Dorky Day" from the early 1980s? Somebody hand me a Fan, Man.

We just got in stock today and got to admit that the pens look great! Were little worried since at the DC pen show vendors were having mixed reviews and thought it might be another Virgnia Woolf. But we love it and couple of our customers also have give 'A' ok!

When I first saw the pen in pictures I was unsure about it. Then I saw more pictures and it grew on me. Then I actually handled it and I loved it.

Do I really appear to be a Montblanc basher? No , I am not. I do really love my Montblanc pens and I have more Montblanc pens than any other brand. Don't we want our loved ones be more lovable? I really do not use the MB pens for status. I am a poor man from India who earned low salary his whole life and is now a retired man. Even when I have a MB pen in my pocket no body will mistake me for a man of high (financial) status. In fact they will be aghast as to why this poor guy spends his (meager) fortune on such pens. Perhaps it is infatuation and, maybe, insanity. MB pens have some features which others will perhaps never equal; like the appropriately hard precious resin, the ground flat top surface of the iridium tip. And the shape of the 144 nib is the cutest to me. I wish MB had retained the 144 nib in 145. Being a lover of ED pens, I wish MB had an ED pen in the Meisterstuk line. Since I could not get a vintage MB ED pen, I have converted my MB31 cartridge fed pen into an ED pen. It is doing well. But sometimes it burps. I do not know how to fix that problem. If anyone can advise how to, I will be glad.

You are a Montblanc basher. It isn't for status at all, most people I work around don't even recognise the pen at all. If you like a Jinhao, go ahead and use it and leave people who enjoy Montblancs alone. There are a lot of things a person doesn't need but want and enjoy wanting and owning. If you have a lot of Montblanc pens why do you say something dumb like why pay 850 euros for it? That doesn't make sense unless you have paid 3 euros for all of yours or its all stolen. If all your pens were second-hand, somebody had to buy them first hand for you to buy them second hand. You just don't make any sense I'm afraid.

Fountain pens are like weapons. They just make your pocket bleed so much.

Yes, you do really do appear to be a Montblanc basher. Not everyone buys pens so that other people see them, in fact these people are probably in the minority. I buy MBs because I like them. As someone else has already stated, no one pays attention to my pens anyway-and that is just fine by me.

Rather surprised that people don't like this. The pen has a dignified look in a color that MB has not used on a WE. Not even close to the gaudiness that some folks oppose in some of MB's pens. My wallet, for one, is not safe!

Nor is my wallet safe! This pen is unique and the workmanship is most appealing. Sold!

The pen is of course nice to see, but it is not very popular.

It is one of the old WE's that is still available at B&Ms new in box for a good discount.

It surprises me that, despite the negative historical appropriation, MB has never released a Nietzsche pen.

Or they could do a Derrida pen...all parts shipped separately to be put together by the proud new owner.

Nietzsche! I like that suggestion!
