Noblesse Red Marble Rb Circa 1992

Hi!

I'm new to this forum as my father recently sent me his collection of 7 MBs. I've found info on each pen (thanks MB forum!), except for one later model.

It's a Noblesse RB, the box is dated 1992, and it has a red marbled and lacquered appearance. My father received all his pens during his 40+ years working for the same company, and in 1992 he was living in Hong Kong when he received the pen.

I'm attaching a really poor quality pic (sorry, it's night and taken off my iPad).

Does anyone have any info on it's value or what series was called? Or any info at all? I can't find anything on the Internet.

Thanks!!

It looks to be the later iteration of the Noblesse - a slightly earlier version is shown in this brochure:

Your version has a slightly more 'rounded' star, and appearance to the metal at both ends of the cap than the one in the brochure. A lot of people call these pens 'Noblesse Oblige', but my MB catalogues describe these as plain old 'Noblesse' as late as 1993. I seem to recall the 'Oblige' versions being pens with lacquered barrels and metal caps (my wife's has a blue/silverplated combination), but I may be incorrectly remembering something I read somewhere, as the pen only says 'Noblesse' on the cap.

For me it doesn't look like a rollerball but like a ballpoint pen.

Anyway, the pen belongs to the Montblanc Noblesse line (not Noblesse Oblige!) with lacquer over metal.

The question is which model line of the Noblesse.

If the clip looks like this:

the pen belongs to the Montblanc Noblesse III, the last model line of the Noblesse.

If the clip is a solid "block", the pen belongs to the Noblesse II line.

The value of this pen is around $250.00 based on what I see them go for on ebay.

Also, the picture you posted are of a 90's MB catalog and the prices have gone up since they have been discontinued.
