@Sailor KenshinDoes the coffee leave a coffee smell behind?

So my husband did a sniff test of my pens and doesn't know what I am talking about.  🙄 He thinks this is because he is the chief toilet plunger and head septic tank digger so therefore deals with very unpleasant smells.💩

Yes, a faint coffee aroma, which is not at all unpleasant.  I recommend an inexpensive dark roast.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I ALMOST got rid of the stench in my Ahab by burying it in coffee grounds for a month.

Only way i figured i could deal with the smell is using some fragrant ink, and storing the pen in a separate ziplock bag when i wasn't using. KWZ brown-pink (vanilla) and smells-like-coffee both were quite good at different times. This is before i gave up and switched nibs to a coloured pen.

lol....My husband told me I am not allowed near his fancy moka pot coffee.

I don't know if I would like fragrant ink.

Some fragrant inks are better than others.  I have a couple of rose-scented ones (J Herbin Rose, and De Atramentis Red Roses) and they're quite lovely -- really what I expect heirloom roses to smell like (and no, I don't mean the R. foetida ones ).

But De Atramentis Lavender is meh at best (quite a disappointment, to be honest, and also, as I recall, pretty intense) and De Atramentis Patchouli is just nasty and weird, and doesn't really smell like what I think patchouli is SUPPOSED to smell like -- I know because years ago some company had a booth in a mall selling custom blends of fragrance, and I played around with different ones till I found what I liked -- a mixture which includes some lavender and some rose, and a drop of patchouli and a couple of drops of something else (forget what now) and they would mix up the tincture in some sort of flavorless oil for you).  Unfortunately my husband doesn't like the smell of perfumes (he has a bad reaction to most of them) and so I don't use it anymore.... :(

I got ahab today. It is sticky, weird material. But the smell is not as strong as you say online. I smell something, its not good but its very subtle. I guess some colors smell more than others. Mine is turquoise. You guys online made me think ahab would have smelled putrid, but it doesnt. There is just some unpleasant smell that doesnt bother me.

I gave both my Ahabs away. Maybe some smell worse than others? I didn't like it.

Worse than the smell of it was that it evaporated an ink fill within days. Hard starts commenced after sitting overnight.

Will work for pens...
