Manuscript Cartridge (Blue)

Here's a nice soft blue in cartridge form, available in many craft stores (particularly Hobby Lobby in my neck of the woods). It usually comes with black and sepia cartridges too. Here's the review for the sepia cartridge.

It even shows just a tiny bit of sheen up close.

So cool that you posted this! I just picked up a little $3 Manuscript pen from Hobby Lobby the other day with the cheapest, weirdest nib ever. It's like they cut it in an italic like their calligraphy pens, but then made some little notches in it to create a flap on each corner of the nib, folded them under, and rounded it off to create a "regular" nib (it's still not a rounded nib, kind of a weird semi-circle looking thing). Anyway, it writes surprisingly well with the Manuscript cart that was in it, and I was really enjoying the ink. When I first got into FPs I had a bottle of blue Manuscript ink and I hadn't used it in a long, long time. It's actually a decent and well priced ink! Haven't had any problems with clogging or pen-eating yet!

Very similar to Parker Quink Washable Blue.

Have you used J. Herbin Bleu Nuit before? If so, how do you think they compare? Loving the Bad Blue Heron, by the way.

This reminds me of the Bleu Nuit as well - at least in the colour. I can't compare scans at present though.

This was actually the first bottle of ink I bought..I use it for pen testing too...I wonder who makes it for them..since its an English company?

Great review as always. Especially your use of the word "soft" is absolutely appropriate. Still wouldn't mind finding out how you manage to squeeze out all of that sheen, most notably from our Salix!
