Who Loves Desk Pens?

They certainly do! BTW, I've been looking for a Mamiya U in good working condition for the longest time. Some day maybe.

I still have my MUP (Mamiya Universal Press) with 2 lenses: 65mm 1:6.3 and 100mm 1:2.8.

I think this one is from the 100mm lens.

One of my most favorite of all weird and quirky vintage cameras :)

There are some on ebay from USD$33 to $50+. They all seem to be ultrafine nibs. OK, I just bought the cheapest one. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=Platinum+KDP-3000A&_sacat=0

I'm just annoyed that my attempts to acquire a new Platinum KDP-3000A desk pen from Japanese sellers didn't pan out. I ordered one from YouStyle on Rakuten Global Market, but because for whatever stupid reason Rakuten Global Express refused to forward-ship to me in Australia the pen it received from the seller on my behalf, it got returned and refunded (after I got charged processing fees!). I tried to order one from Pensachi along with other products on one of my previous orders, but they never followed up on whether they can get one in for me, but just shipped the rest of the order and said no more about it.

It's the cheapest new gold-nibbed pen from Japanese Big Three fountain pen brands, and I really want to test it out for myself.

There are a couple Mamiya U on ebay.

Zookie and Penwash, please don't make me look at vintage cameras on ebay again. The Mamiya press cameras are weird but cheap and tempting. A lot of old film cameras are fairly cheap, but some that I've wanted for years are still too expensive. I have too many old folding roll film cameras that I never use. Some of the best of them I can't even get film for.

Sorry.

I do like old desk sets, and have had several over the years. I've mostly found the set, but no pen, so I rarely know which pen actually goes with the set.

By the way, I won't mention ttv photography as a means to use your old cameras (insert evil laugh here).

Thank you for looking it up! Alas, I got my Platinum Vicoh PTL-5000A pens (with MSRP of ¥5,000+tax) each for less than those asking prices for the KDP-3000A (with MSRP of ¥3,000+tax), and it may be a character flaw of mine, but I just can't stomach it. I bought the KDP-3000A for ¥2,031+tax, on that order that was fulfilled by the retailer but ultimately returned for refund before I saw the items. That's about US$20, which is what makes the pricing so unbelievably low for a gold-nibbed pen from one of the Japanese Big Three fountain pen manufacturers.
