My Stipula Baracca

Since it didn't come with a converter, I assume it is replaceable. You could (carefully) try to fit an international converter (Pelikan converters are excellent; note that Waterman converters are NOT international converters), to see if it fits. In the mean time I have put a question about this to Etruria S.r.l. When I hear from them I will let you know the answer.

Warm regards, Wim

question: how do you remove the sleeve filler and replace it with a converter?

Sleeve filler is screw-in, so you want to unscrew it.

I can't recall if the included converter is also screw in, but I believe you can use an international cartridge in it. I tried once, but I can recall the details.

okay, many thanks! i've now managed to unscrew it from the nib end, and then to pull it out from the other end. interesting setup.

the nib on this pen is buttery smooth, by the way. lovely.

many thanks, wim, will await your reply. i don't want to crush any threads there by jamming a converter into place.

it doesn't have to be replaced, at least not right now; but since a converter option was indicated in the original literature (which i don't have), i wanted to know how to do it, and with which converter. the sleeve filler is interesting, but frankly it seems a bit fragile to me and doesn't take in as much ink as a converter might. unlike quite a few people on FPN, i have nothing against converters--i think they were invented for a reason, and i'd like the option of using one with the baracca ;)

Still on my first pot of coffee, but it is not obvious to me why the existing filler should be replaced.

The sleeve filter is a bit weighty. While the pen is balanced with it -- the weight is after all in the middle of the pen -- I find the pen with it overall a tad too heavy for my tastes. With a converter, the pen becomes a light, which is my preference.

Thank you both: clear and succint.

Good luck with your pens,

I have to revive this post. Just recently got one of those. Such a nice and undervalued pen. Mine comes with a stipula converter.
