Value Of A Parker 45 Bb Nib

Nonsensical

I have the opportunity to buy this nib:

It looks like a BB to me, but correct me if I'm wrong, for about $42USD. Is it worth it? I'm not a big fan of such wide nibs, but would like to try it out nonetheless. What is a fair price for such a nib?

Thanks!

I'd guess around $42, if it's gold.

You're welcome!

Yes, it is a 14k nib, it was advertised as a BB. Thanks!

What nib code is stamped on the under side of the nib collar? Is it a "W" by any chance? I have a similar extra-broad nib, stamped with that code and others have informed me that Parker used that code , on earlier models, to signify a Wide ink channel to ensure adequate flow for such a wide point.

Hi All, I have 2 different '45' nib collars, both seem to be marked 'M' but one 'M' is a different style to the other.

See photo. The nib is a 14ct medium, it looks and writes like it is a medium.

But I bought this nib in a wrecked 45, and so I can't be sure of it's history. It is a all chrome Flighter, with 'Made in England' marking, no date code though.

It is indeed stamped with a W under the collar. Thanks for the help!

I have two P45's, one with an M and the other a B on the underside so I'd guess if this one has anything else, be it BB or W then it isn't a B. Perhaps you could confirm with the seller? It certainly appears to be wider than mine although the magnification may be throwing it off (not to mention the gap between the tines on this one).
