I have several "nib guys" (and gals), but this nib came from fpnibs dot com in Spain. That is my main source for custom-ground loose gold nibs. Pablo Carrasco does stellar nib work.

It was time to clean out my Swan No 4 SSC and try a new ink:

It's funny how "stubby"the nib looks relative to the diameter of the barrel of the pen!  Lovely.  How do you like the ink?

wow @Cob, have not seen a safety screw cap with a 4 stub before - nice!

Yes a very broad stub, here's a snap of the nib.

I have another No 4 SSC, this time a "shorty".  The nib is a stub with gold overfeed.  Picture below

I'm delighted with Diamine's Macassar.  t looks rather dark in my writing sample, but the pen does like to deliver a fair bit of ink!  I should try it with a finer nb.

This Vacumatic nib was called a OM by the vendor. It is as physically wide as a BB I have in my Pelikan M205 DUO. But it sure doesn't have regular tipping like one would expect of a B or BB for example. More like a stub or italic nib.

That is a gorgeous stub!!!   My assumption of the overfeed is to help with ink flow?  I recently became an owner of a Swan eyedropper.   However the nib on mine is not a broad point.  😞

Not officially a stub, but very stubby behavior.

Hullo.

The gold overfeed?  Well cynics say that they do not do very much.

A few years ago I had a Swan whose gold overfeed was broken.

It wrote beautifully!

All the best,

Cob

This is an overfeed, similar to Cob’s Swan,
