You don't adulterate ink in your pens, do you?  If so, have you ever had problems with it sitting in the chamber for too long?

In this case, I added a tiny amount of detergent to the ink in a short cartridge - just touched the tip of a toothpick to the detergent, then to the open end of the cartridge. So far I haven't had any issues, but I've mostly done this in plastic Kaweco Sports (also cartridge pens), which (in my experience) tend to have quite dry-writing nibs.

Very nice!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

@Misfit If you PM me with your name and address (which I think I had at one point), I'll send you a letter.

The letter in this post compliments your penmanship and I note that you have very much improved that pen.

OOPS, it helps if I add the picture.

Done!  I wrote out a quote, thinking it belonged in this thread. Turned out it was not the thread where you and Esty Collector wrote out The Gettysburg Address. Still, it is a stub nib I used.  Letters!  I love letters!

I thought it was me!  I had a Sport in my standard XF and hated it, though I was pleased that it seems to start up reliably no matter how long I let it sit in the car (car pen as opposed to fridge pen!).  Picked up a F and found it better, but still harsh.

Then, when I was sending pens to Mark Bacas, I decided to throw the XF in with everything else and see how it was after being tuned.  What a difference! I no longer avoid using the pen.

Yes it is a pen you have seen before, but I do like this Dromgoole's Exclusive Pineider.

A Sailor Pro Gear Slim in Red Supernova with a music nib has shipped. Once it arrives, I’ll post a photo of how it writes. I’m so looking forward to trying the pen and nib combo out. I’ll probably put the once misplaced and now found Pelikan Edelstein Garnet in it.

The Retro 51 Escape pen with 1.1mm stub is due this week. Even though there are a lot of pens needing cleaning, the Escape pen will want to be inked to show off too.

@amberleadavis can medium nibs be ground into good CI pens?  What tip size would a M ground to a CI be?  Also same thing about a B nib. Thanks if you can share enlightenment on this.

My limited experience:

I've had 2 Pelikan broads ground to 0.8 CIs, and 1 Pelikan medium ground to a 0.4 CI.

I got the Pelikan Moonstone pen in B thinking about eventually having it ground to a CI nib. I like the B nib better than the M and F nibs on my other Pelikan pens.

Edit: thank you @brokenclay for the answer. It took me a moment to realize who replied.

I didn't get a chance to photograph the nibs yet, but here are 2 MB149 mediums that were custom ground, one to a stub and the other a CI and a Pelikan M400 B nib also custom ground.

Here is some classics - Pelikan 400 (circa 1954), with a B nib, but de facto it has a CI configuration.

Ink - Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Brown.

Nice nib! Based on it, the pen seems to be from the 1980's. The model 400 was never available with that nib.

Well, according to https://www.pelikan-collectibles.com/en/Pelikan/Models/Revised-Piston-Fillers/400-Basis/index.html, this pen seems to be Pelikan 400, but with the 400NN nib...
It is said "Beware of confusion: this is the nib design with which the Souveraen series started in 1982 with the M400, too. But here the pen width was embossed in italics." My one has capital B on it.
Anyway, the pen is a beautiful writer!
