Stub O' The Day

It is the #6 size. I also asked about buying a Nagahara Broad Stub, but they said that I could only purchase it if I were to buy another F-C pen directly from F-C.  (Buying it from Dromgoole's didn't count).

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

So far I only have F-C pens with the #6 size nib. They are 2 model 31 Omnis pens, and the pocket 66. I have the Italian Ice also, with a B SIG nib by Audrey. I missed out on Jim Rouse’s SIG nibs. The pocket 66 came with an EF, so I bought the 1.1CC nib for it, thinking black would look good, but I think silver tone was the right choice.

My Smoke and Ice Omnis has the Masuyama B cursive italic nib. I’m not in love with the recessed nib, so I tend to fill it from the converter to keep ink out of the recessed area.

@amberleadavis  what size is your Nagahara cursive italic nib?  I have the Masuyama cursive italic in B. If I were to buy another F-C pen, it would be interesting to get a Nagahara in the same size.

Today I started using my new notebook so I had to list all my pens. Much to my surprise, two of my pens had the same ink. I did not believe it.  But yes, this is the difference between a dry Japanese medium and a super wet BB American stub.  The ink is Diamine Happy Holidays.

Amazing! They may be the same ink, but I doubt if anyone would know that just by looking.

I didn't believe it until I watered the ink down from the Sheaffer and the Pilot had a little ink-cident and left a blob. It really is the same ink.

I wouldn't, though I have noticed that some inks I dislike in my EFs/Fs finally look dark enough in a larger nib, so if I don't like an ink in the first pen I try it in I'm sure to try it in another before I abandon it.  I don't care for pale inks.

That Sheaffer is INSANELY WET, and next time, I might try some stupid pale ink in it to see how it looks.

Today is a Delta Dolcevita Federico - not to be confused with the ones sold in Italy or the ones actually sold to the high end pen shops. These ones sold by "MM" were a little different.  Oh and since I ran out of ink, I also included another orange pen, orange ink combo.

Today is the new Hinze pen. I love the material.  He checks each nib and he anodized them with color so I was able to get a purple nib.

Now that  is cool. The material and the nib. (And the choice of ink!) I had no idea a nib could have it's colour changed. It's things like that which keep this hobby fresh.

Will work for pens...
