Ive had enjoyable writing with Lamy 1.5 in Safari, and Leonardo Momento Zero with steel 1.5 nibs, which have given line variation close to Cursive Italic for me (YMMV). Ive had one Leonardo modified to a 1.2 which has been excellent as well.

Franklin-Christoph has both stub and italic nibs, plus a SIG nib or Stub Italic Gradient. I have their #31 Omnis with a broad italic nib.

My new (to me) fresh from the bay Parker “51” stub (Pls note the nib IS fully seated it’s just that this hood/shell seems to be a little shorter than most)

Fitted with a nice JUICY Warranted MUSIC nib

 

WOW!!! It is rare to find a Winters & Robbins pen in any condition, with any nib, but a MUSIC NIB?!!!

Another TWSBI to share, this time with a TWSBI stub nib

 

 

 

Your writing is so easy on the eyes. Also, I have found that the TWSBI stubs tend to flow on the dry side and it appears yours is similar. What is your experience with them?

 

I was lucky to get this Esterbrook 2314-M nib on a different LJ. I really like how it writes.

 

 

I have quite a few Estie nibs - they are generally trouble-free and nice writers, though occasionally I find one that writes very dry or has a sharp edge. Nice to see an Esterbrook in use. :thumbup:

Now that you asked that, I’m thinking you are right about the Eco 1.1mm stub. The Diamond 580 1.1mm stub is different, maybe writes wetter. I’m not well versed on wet and dry inks, but of course they play a part too.

This is accidental stub, as I am not really into stub nibs. I bought this ASC Gladiatore Medio as a broad nib but its really a stub.post-117416-0-16000900-1574095335_thumb.jpeg

Thank you or explaining the SIG nib designation. Always wondered what it meant but too lazy to ask or google it.

 

I've owned at least three F&C pens in the past & all ordered with such a nib. Eventually on my last F&C, I swapped its SIG nib to a 18c JoWo factory stub (from Classic FP, no affiliation) that was then stubbed to a nice 0.7mm.

*Sailor 1911S, Black/gold, 14k. 0.8 mm. stub(JM) *1911S blue "Colours", 14k. H-B "M" BLS (PB)

*2 Sailor 1911S Burgundy/gold: 14k. 0.6 mm. "round-nosed" CI (MM) & 14k. 1.1 mm. CI (JM)

Yes it’s called Arco Brown celluloid. It looks great from front and back, from the side it looks a bit dull.

You are welcome. I have tried a friends SIG nib, well nibs. She has quite a few F-C pens. If I had unlimited pen funds, I would get a SIG nib and F-C would bring back the Cocoa cream color.

This is a Delike Alpha with a separate italic nib sourced from an eBay seller. A fellow contributor on FPN, Randal6393, taught me how to grind the nib more crisply. The nib imprint appears similar to the one in Ememels Italix Freshmans Notator post.

 

Lovely handwriting and a seemingly beautiful and excellent paper!

Which paper is that?

Hi,

 

I found a vintage Mabie Todd Swan L212/52 in lapis lazuli colored celluloid made ca. 1936.

It's nib is a medium stub with nice flex. A turned up nib.
