The lovely ink in use is KWZ IG Turquoise Ink and writes super wet and has an amazing shading properties on Fabriano Ego Paper

Thanks, Bob. Fine italic work and a fine quote. I bought a bottle based on a recent post of yours, and have been trying it out on a Jinhao medium nib while witing for an ASA Nauka to come in with a 1.1.

In my experience so far, Stipula italic nibs have been smooth writers and quite wet. Yet, with a dry ink, they can produce reasonably crisp italic text. My only quibble is that 1.1 mm is a bit wide for my everyday italic handwriting. Consequently, I have had about half of my Stipula Italic nibs ground to narrower widths (0.75 to 0.9 mm) and made crisper. The nib in this posting is un-modified.

I do believe your italic script has improved a lot over the past few months, Bob.

That ink is nice too. It is quite similar to Franklin-Christoph's "Urushi Red," with which I have been playing in recent weeks.

David,

These "red-chalk" reds are rich and shade well, without being too in-your-face, aren't they? Thank you for noticing progress in italic. Have been spending time with Jacqueline Svaren's "Written Letters" book, on your recommendation, and with two other former Lloyd Reynolds students, Getty and Dubay, who just posted these helpful videos on YouTube.

I don't have the technical lingo to label the particular character to which you refer, but I get it. I think many of the blue-gray inks share that quality - a kind of velvety depth.

Jaki's book is a lot more advanced than the Getty-Dubay manuals and videos. I do love her comments and general advice as well as her specific instructions.

Absolutely a gorgeous pen Amberlea,...though sadly I wouldn't be able to write with its cone shaped grip. I struggled with a Triumph when they first appeared on the market, back then.

Anyway what's PSP?

Peyton Street Pens. A friend bought a bunch of pens there. I love my ink tank that has a stub italic nib.
