No. That's a B4 nib for the latest "Easy-change" Osmiroid pens. (Discontinued in the late 1970's, I believe.) It does have 3 tines, like many music nibs. I don't know that Osmiroid every made a nib they called a "music nib."

FYI, the Osmiroid B4 nib is 2.5 mm. The other fountain pens that had italic nibs that broad were Platignum (also English) and Reform (German). Pelikan made some calligraphy nibs up to 2.0mm, that I know of. The only currently manufactured fountain pen nibs that comes close, to my knowledge are Kaweco's 2.3 mm italic nib and the 2.3 mm italic nib for the Rotring Art Pen. I guess the Pilot Parallel is technically a fountain pen, and those go up to 6 mm!

David

P.S. If you want to see a Platignum 3-tine italic nib in action, watch some of the Lloyd Reynolds videos on youtube.

Thank You David, I was not sure what it was. The three times did confuse me and I assumed this was a Music nib.

Cheers.

I just received two Jowo #6 nibs - a Fude variation and a broad cursive italic from FPNibs.com. The italic is, I would say, sharper than the stock 1.1mm stub and easily as good as the italic I tried from Mike Masuyama, main difference being that the FPNibs italic was wetter.

The Fude nib is an absolute blast. No idea how to use it though. :D

Nice one Zaddick! Beautiful pen and great nib!

Speaking of which, this next one is a doozy. It's a Bexley Poseidon Magnum II in Mandarin Yellow with a Visconti BB nib ground to cursive italic by Michael Masuyama.

Great pens, inks and handwriting being displayed the past couple days! Keep it coming!

Eli, your italic hand has signs of having been practiced. It looks expecially good in that Monaco Red. Diamine sure has a batch of nice red inks!

Love the "Bexconti" MCWB. Current steel Bexley nibs are good writers but rather boring. The BBCI (a new British TV channe?) makes the pen come alive. Nice combo!

@jar,

Writing sample or it did not happen

If the sun comes out I need to take some pictures anyway so I'll try to add a writing sample.

Wait....I may be able to just scan one.

Watch here for new developments.

I had a leaky converter it turned out. Also that was written right after filling so super wet.

Thanks a lot, David! Yes, my italic's been practiced on a daily basis. Glad if it shows.

Practice, patience, perseverance

Wow,... I'm normally not too fond of Waterman pens (except perhaps the really old safeties, though love their inks), but this pen here is an absolute stunner.

Is the nib attached somewhat like a Sheaffer Triumph nib?

Is this pen vintage or modern?

Beautiful, enjoy!
