Thanks for reminding me, amberlea!

Ink flow is more generous than most of my Pelikans.

Seriously, it is a beautiful pen and a very enjoyable nib.

My first post in SOTD.

You will notice in my efforts to cloak my penmanship as being "in constant state of becoming," I failed to spell Brown correctly. To add insult to injury, I missed it too. Ain't life grand?

That said, there is always a silver lining. I sold this pen and the buyer thought it was worn out and looked as it had been used for 2 years straight.
Whaaaaa? The good news is, I'M KEEPING IT! This pen suits me better than the small Sailor I had, but a KOP in ebonite will fix that! :lticaptd:

Cheers!

And a writing sample with comparisons with other stock italic nibs:

Eli, I think everybody will agree that your writing speaks for itself. That said, the Yu-Yake I have never seen up close before and I am astonished; it almost looks like you put shape to a dancing flame. Impressive!

"Placing shape to a dancing flame" -- that's a beautiful turn of phrase for handwriting, Behike, and I agree completely about Eli's work here with yu yake, the Kaweco italic, and batarde francaise!

It is indeed a fantastic pen. Great photography. Time for another group buy in time for Christmas from ASA I think.... :)

Really enjoyed the trans Nauka review, Vaibhav. Outstanding photography as usual and fascinating back story behind the demonstrator version. Am surprised to learn that Jowo ships, the occasional lemon nib, but probably should not be. Thank you for your work behind this review, and behind the pen.

(Sorry about the poor quality of the zoomed nib photo).

I have had some shadow nibs for an Osmiroid pen for some time. I didn't know Kaweco made one for their pens until vaibhav showed us his. It's a great tool for learning and produces interesting writing.

Have not seen one before. Very cool! Does the Kaweco nib fit all of their pens?

The Kaweco shadow nib (Kaweco calls it their "Twin" nib.) comes on a feed and carrier that fits the Classic Sport and other models that take that carrier. However, it is easy to switch the nib/feed unit to carriers that fit the Al-sport and others that take that carrier, for example the Dia 2. I have exchanged nib/feed units among my Classic Sports, Al-sport and Dia 2 without difficulty.

BTW, I have not seen this nib carried by any US vendors. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough. I got mine from fpnibs dot com in Spain. The Writing Desk in the UK carries it. Probably other Kaweco dealers have it too, just not those in the US for some reason.

Thanks David, I hadn't seen this nib before either - they're low in stock at fpnibs.com now, so I jumped in quick to get one!
