Have You Ever Had A Bottled Ink Fade?

I've had more old ink bottles still be the correct color than not, but at least four are not, and at least one more I suspect is not. Also, so far I've only had one old opened bottle (out of about 10) have anything growing in it. Since I was not the original owner, I can't say how they were stored, and don't know why some are not good while most are good. IE I don't know if it was fade from light or chemical degradation for other reasons (perhaps heat). By old I mean from the '40s, '50s, and '60s.

Has it been a year? I still have the vials in the window.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Okay, I"m updating the results page.

Inks do not fade in the bottle.

Even after a year in direct sun.

They do however, evaporate even in allegedly airtight containers.

Great news! Thanks so much for posting the results, and the photos. Now I won't worry about displaying my bottles.
