Hari, wow! drool.gif That is a sweet pen. Please tell us who makes it and how it writes. I'm assuming it's new since it looks so pristine. Is it??

Tom, yes it was new when it was photographed. Just click on the picture it will take you to my earlier thread about the pen.

Best

Hari

Freddy, I like that chased pattern Parker Duofold. Is it a vintage model? I've heard those nibs are a real peach (a new expression I've adopted since moving to Georgia two years ago). Thanks for sharing! thumbup.gif

Jar, that pen looks like a whale. Is it really that big in real life? I looked at the photo and just imagined it sucking up an entire bottle of ink in one go. laugh.gif

The Montegrappa is a standard international C/C pen but Montegrappa converters are big.

post-56904-0-18187600-1362215977.jpgHi,

Here's my latest black pen. It is a Conway Stewart International, which I have lacquered and charcoaled. Just needs a replacement CS 1A nib and a cap clip to finish.

Regards

Hey, that looks great! How did you "charcoal" the finish?

Thanks,

The pen is lacquered and very fine charcoal is sprinkled on.

The effect is a striking black.

I have fine sanded just the cap knob that should hold the clip, which gives a matt finish, but have left the rest of the pen surface unsanded for now.

Terry

Here are mines. Well, one of them has some patterns, but it is still black and I quite like it.

There's one missing that they call diamond black, but it's rather dark gray.

Honestly, Hari I completely forgot. I still have not tested the pen. It has a F nib but is frankly unusable for me. Will get a nib exchange from platinum (Fingers crossed)

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
