Then I noticed I'd left a few out (Kaweco "Colleg" piston, unnamed snake clip piston, unnamed lever fill pocket pen:

And when I was posting this, I realised I'd still left another two out anyway! Silly me...a Monnt Blanc 242 and a Conway Stewart Dinkie. Sorry, no photo of those last ones.

Gotta love the black!!!!

This is a neat idea, I've been meaning to reply its just taken me a few days. I took one photo then remembered I had more black pens, oh and then there are a couple more over there, and one down there, and a few over here. But here they all are all together.

Jennings and seanruss, you two have really gone all out with the black pens. Thanks for herding them all together for group photos. It must have been like a little family reunion. Haha

majorworks, that Dollar Estie looks great. Your Gajendra really shrinks that nib--I'm guessing it's a #6?

Thanks for taking the time to share your pens with us.

So many handsome pens!

Thanks for the kind words. The nib in the Gajendra is a broad I obtained from Brian Gray. Darned if I can remember if it's a #6 or a #5, even. It's a JoWo steel and is very smooth. That pen would shrink ANY nib. You could probably lay down a bunt with it. Despite its size, it's comfortable to write with and is fairly light. It doesn't post, as if you'd want to.

The Dollar came from Penfisher, who posts pens for sale here often. It was a gift from my wife and is a favorite of mine.

You know I never knew how many black pens I had until I put them together...thanks for making me realise! Looks like for every flashy marble and pattern I've gone after, a classy, quietly understated black has crept in. But like the missis says, black goes with everything, right?! :roflmho:

I hope I'm not late to the party!

Here are my black (or mostly-black) pens some are mine, and some are stolen inherited from my father:

http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3909/dsc0081te.jpg

From left to right:

- Montblanc 146

- Sheaffer Imperial VIII

- Lady Sheaffer Skripsert

- Stypen Harley Davidson

- Faber Castell Ambition Rhombus

- Parker Frontier

- Parker 45

- Parker Vector

- Esterbrook J

- Pelikan M215

Now that I look at it, there is no rhyme nor reason in the way I accumulate pens. Is it bad, doctor?

Regards:

Enrique

Lamy Studio Stealth

Wait, what!? Haha. Yeah. I recently bought a Lamy Studio in black (with the chrome grip section) from the kids over at GouletPens.com (no affiliation) and I thought, "Hm... This thing would look sharp with a black section like the one found on the silver versions of the pen." And of course I had to doll it up with a black nib, too, which came on the pen from Goulet.

So, there you have it. A black Lamy Studio rockin' an EF Black Steel Nib and a black grip section. I've also got a Pilot VP in Stealth Black, too, but it's dark in here and I can't find the stupid thing. :ninja:

Enjoy.

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

That's the pen I wish I had instead of my Safari. It's a perfect combination of Lamy's modular nib system and the bauhaus spirit. Great idea you had eureka.gif

Thanks a million! It's a great pen. And I prefer the feel of the black grip to the chrome. I think it was only like $25 shipped from Lamy USA. And it included a F nib in chrome. Probably wont use it, but its nice to have a spare.

If you take off the metal trim parts and cerakote them, you can have a completely matte black pen. Better yet, if you can isolate all the metal parts of the pen except the nib, you can get all of them cerakoted matte black. The grip section trim ring unscrews on the Studio.

hi tomG: yes that is Shawn Newton's pen - it's got a great finely tuned stub nib on it, and it is enormous. I don't do anything special with the pens, I do use them, then I store them in either a display case, a holder or case like the Penvelopes. I have trouble selling pens because I'm AWFUL and haggling and bartering at pen shows, after losing my shirt many times to people adept at doing this, I've decided to just be buyer rather than a seller.

pelahale, Thanks for posting your very expansive collection. Looks like they're about to commit mutiny against the computer! laugh.gif

Is that one on the right side a Newton micarta pen? It's enormous!

Also, I wish I was in a position to help you cull the pens you don't have room for. Looks like you've taken very nice care of all of them.

Happy writing, everyone

Pelahale, my eye fell upon that rocker blotter....from whence didst thou acquire that work of art? puddle.gif

that is Japanese lacquered Urushi blotter I got from a PenShow - it was either the DC show or the Raleigh Show. Still works, though old and a bit beat-up.
