All these come from an old review I did. Here it is, the Nakaya Sumi Gold Decapod

Looks like you've got three grail pens. I guess that begs the question... what next? rolleyes.gif

That Nakaya is just breathtaking thumbup.gif

Ohh in the mean time I somehow ( ) ended up with 2 more Nakayas, filled out some more spots on my Montblanc list and acquired assorted other wonderful pens.

'What next?' is not a question you ask a pen fanatic.

'How far down the rabbit hole are you willing to go?' That is the question :ltcapd:

My small collection of black pens going back to my first FP from the 1980's, the MB 149, up to the most recent ones, the Picasso and the Jinhao 650 which arrived last week.

The end one??? is an MB clone given by Cathay Pacific many years ago when I used to travel business class with them.

All quite inexpensive pens except for the MB149 which only gets used once or twice per year before being cleaned and put away again. Its a joy to write with but I cant bring myself to use it more than I do.

Thanks for looking, Beejay

esterbex, Rosary beads make it so easy to get the pens to sit still for a picture. Lovely collection of MBs you have there. I walked into a pen shop a couple weeks ago and realize how much better that "precious resin" looks in person than online.

Dillo, Lovely 88p. As I understand it, the 88p was supposed to be an Italian competitor to the Parker 51--is that correct? The Aurora's hood design is more appealing to my eye than Parker's.

beejay, I can understand keeping that nice 149 tucked safely away. It looks practically new! Thanks for taking it out to show us puddle.gif

Okay, what else am I going to do with the rest of my Sunday morning? I pulled out all of my blackies (of which I admit, I much prefer pens with some color), and posed them for a group photo. A far cry from the piles of MB's I've seen, but significantly less invested. All of the vintage ones have been restored myself as well.

In order:

Sheaffer No Nonsense, Sheaffer Imperial VI/LIFETIME, Sheaffer Triumph Vac-Fil, Sheaffer Snorkel Admiral, Sheaffer Snorkel Saratoga, Sheaffer Snorkel Statesman, Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant, Esterbrook SJ, Parker 51 Vacumatic, Parker Vacumatic Sub-Debutante, Recife Vulcan, Franklin Christophe Model 25 "Eclipse" (not shown, as it is on loan currently, a Pilot Metropolitan in black)

Nope, not custom design. But might as well have been :)

Don't stare at the price. This is a tool that can, if treated properly, serve you for life. Sure other pens can do that too. But, on top of the functionality, this is a work of art that will provide you with just as much pleasure staring at it as using it

gregamckinney, Those are all sharp-looking pens, but the chased patterns on the Williamson and the Waterman 55V are fabulous. Great collection. Thanks for sharing!
