Sorry I missed on the Hitchcock ink. That really is a pretty cool color. (Utah)

You and me both, I've added that ink to my "have to try soon" list, lol.

Lamy Student PIF has a Winner

How strange that the winner of the student pif is the one that just posted a question about when it ends. All: I had 42, the highest number so far, applicants for this student pif. The winner is Caryshansonxx. Congrats! Package will travel over the Atlantic. PM me your contact info and I will mail Saturday.

Thanks to all that applied. Russ

The Montblanc 149 PIF is now officially opened.

To enter: just send me a pm stating that you want to enter and I will put your name in the hat.

This will be a Montblanc 149 circa 1990. Currently this pen resides in Germany with a current FPN member, "Joker4eva", who will be helping me with this giveaway. There will be no restrictions on shipping location. Since I do PIFs to students, and will continue to do so, this will be for those of us out of school.

To be eligible: You must be over 25, and not currently in highschool or college. I do have a list of students from prior PIFs so those names will be excluded. I ask that if you have the means to purchase this pen...please don't throw your name in the hat. The winner will be selected Friday the 25th.

Regards, Russ

Very best of luck to all those in for the 149. I am lucky enough to own some great 149's so self excluded from the draw but will watch with interest

Honored that I was called a friend, despite the fact we haven't really met, and have conversed only on forums.

That said, Russ was crazy generous enough to have let me have a test drive with his 149. I've mentioned to Russ that I might be doing a PIF despite my tight finances in exchange for his generous move.

My mail box filled up. Over 100 entries so far! I have just cleared mail box. If you have received a reply from me...rest assured your name is on the list. Those that may not have gotten a reply, just resend entry. Was a Fun Mad House this morning. Whew! My two good typing fingers are sore. lol

Thanks to those that have entered so far!

To PIF or to bin, that's the question.

Nr 1 : a chinese FP, comes with converter and a 'double nib'.

Nr 2 : blue/black, 14k nib, reminds of the osmia brand, deformed by heat.

Nr 3 : black, Osmia #222 F , bent nib, looks as is 14k.

The picture is as lousy as the pens, I'm afraid and I cannot get either any better. Maybe nice for practising restauration techniques, nib straightening skills, or whatever. If nobody wants them I'll pull out the gold and bin the rest ;)

Whoever wants to save them from the bin, just PM me.

Then, something better:

A white Shaeffer FP with two caps, one black, one white. Edit: The black nib is 'M'

Finally:

Three (3) Parker 25 fountain pens, stainless steel, blue trim, nibs estimated F.

Just PM me and tell me why the Sheaffer or one P25 should be yours!

Shipping worldwide, but el cheapo, in an airbag bubbled envelope at lowest costs.

How much fun is this?! I've been on FPN for several months, and never knew about the PIF threads until now.

So... since I was recently shocked to discover that I have more than 20 pens, I am sending some of them out to find new homes.

My PIF offering is as follows: Three circa-1980s Parker Vector FPs, in used but good condition. I used these when I was in college. One is maroon, two are navy, all are Fine point. I've washed them all out, but there may remain slight traces of ink.

I am offering also 2 Parker converters and an unopened NOS package of Parker Quink cartridges in Permanent Black.

If you are interested in one of them, let me know by PM whether you prefer the maroon one or a navy-blue one, and whether you'd rather have a converter or the pack of cartridges. Monday morning, I will roll the dice and we'll see who gets which ones...

(Edited: I should add, if you've never used one, that the Vector Fine at least in my experience, is a somewhat drier writer than otherwise. Just FYI... )

Here is my first PIF effort. It's a bottle of MB Alfred Hitchcock ink. <snip>

Whoops-- I PM'd you, but didn't realize it was too late already. Please disregard/delete.

Rustymac40, look what you did, it's wonderful! All these people discovering the PIF group and diving in. Even those of us who don't win the 149 will be winners, now that there are so many more players. Hopi bon!
