Surprisingly only 3 people have entered. I'll do the drawing on Wednesday Nov. 13 6pm PST time.

Not so surprising... most people (me included) get weed out with your conditions one and two. ;)

No complaints here.. Is a great way to make sure the newbies get a chance..

Yes those rules are specifically to give new folks a chance.

I suppose this means that there's no large flood of new folks to the PIF forum topic.

I'm not sure if I qualify as "new", lol! I don't qualify for the PIF above anyways due to location. This thread is such a lovely idea! I hope to be able to offer some things up down the road myself. Maybe I'll get lucky and Santa will bring me some ink & a couple more pens for Christmas?? Then I could offer up one of my "starter" pens, lol!

I did have someone not from the USA enter into the drawing, and that's fine with me. They just need to understand the shipping will most likely cost more than $3. Probably something like $6 or $7.

It's a shame this thread isn't getting the traffic it use to. I'm sure there are alot of new folks to fountain pens, but they haven't see this thread.

I didn't enter because rule no 4 said "Have to be in the USA". Seemed unequivocal to me.

This thread gets really hard for me to follow after a few months. Even when giving away PIFs, it can be difficult. It seems more like its own forum than a thread, but that would take more managing and add difficulty to the admins.

Sorry I'm a few hours late for the drawing. The Sheaffer Agio will be going to " loveyounadal " please send me a pm with your address for where the pen will be shipped to. Thanks for everyone that entered. It was great reading how so many folks are getting back into fountain pens etc.

Thank you very much Pokerman.

This will be my first sheaffer pen.

I wasnt sure whether i was eligible for your draw. As i had written to you in my PM, i had received pens as PIFs before. But, i have made it as a point to re-PIF my earlier ones with every new entry.

And am very thankful for considering me in the draw.

BRAVO! I applaud the way you did your PIF.

nOObs need all the help they can get. Especially financially constrained ones.

I have enjoyed doing out of the ordinary PIFs myself in the past, anything more interesting than the first to say I want it, gets it.

Manny and I had a good time with the guess the auction ending price PIFs.

Great PIF Tommy,

Just to be clear, the rule #4 is sort of a rule, if you're willing to pay the extra to ship the pen to you I have no problems with that.

Oh what a shame you didn't just say that in your PiF. I would have entered if I'd have known the rule was only "sort of a rule". Who'd have thunk it? Glad it's clear now. LOL ;-)

This is a beautiful initiative. Kudos to the people participating in the giveaway! I'm a complete pen-newbie and I'm astonished by this charity!

I'd rather not participate in the drawing myself, since I might damage the gift with my 'unexperienced' hands :)

Don't worry about it (seriously, people hand out stuff deliberately to people who are new so they can have fun with it) and please do join in. No one's going to hunt you down and interrogate you on how you're treating the pen you got, and we're always happy to give more people stuff. :)

Thanks for the response!

My handwriting is terrible... I'd feel like I were 'abusing' the pen!

If that's the case, who were those men in suits who showed up at my door the other day? :P

If bad handwriting qualified as pen abuse, I don't think anyone would write with anything ever again! Pens are made to be written with, and while learning to write well can be fun there's lots of people who just want to be able to write quickly and easily (and comfortably). Unless you write by tossing the pen like a dart at paper I think you're fine. :D
