The ink sample PIF is closed because I've run out of ink vials. :) I'll be sending out the packages early next week, and will let the people who asked for samples in a PM when their package is out.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in getting this up!

Thanks to those who PM'd me with interest in the Rhodia pad & Quo Vadis Planner. What a tough decision you guys left me with - I think i'll definitely make the next one a 'randomly picked winner' haha! After much thought, I'm finding it absolutely impossible to pick a single recipient - I continue to be blown away by the generosity & kind words of my fellow FPN'ers!

As such, for various reasons, I've picked two winners! That's right - rather than make a hard choice I've taken the cowards way out and just doubled the prize!!!

OldFashionedScript and AndyLa - I'm sending you both personal messages to get your shipping details.

OFS, once I get your response I'll be shipping the package off to you as soon as I can.

Andy, if you're happy to wait just a little longer, I've ordered an additional note pad & planner from the store that I got these through last time - once received, I'll ship them straight off to you as well (touch wood it will only be a few additional days for me to receive them on my end)!

Again, thanks to those who entered and thanks to all the generous people out there on FPN who keep this brilliant bit of friendly charity alive with their gifts to others!

Have a great one everybody!

Here's my first PIF on FPN, though I've been giving pens away in the offline world to any curious triers who show an interest in my pens.

I've two unused Airmail pens to give away. These are piston fillers, with a semi-hooded nib. The one I use writes a smooth, wet, fine line and it wrote that way straight out of the box.

I'd prefer to give these to anyone (I'll ship anywhere) who's curious to try out Indian fountain pens, or someone who wants to try out piston-fillers. Please PM me and tell me why I should send you one.

I'll choose two responses from the ones that I receive till the weekend. :)

It's about time I got around to this.

I have a NOS French made Stypen pen set from the early 1990's to give away.

It comes with a fountain pen and matching ballpoint in a very funky African design with a cool yellow nib. It takes standard international cartridges, there's a long one included, but it's pretty old. Not sure about the ballpoint refill but I suppose it's some kind of standard.

This design screams 1992, and so does the quality control on the printing 'ahem'.

I know there's someone out there that will find it hard to exist until this beauty is safely in their collection, maybe they have a pair of happy-pants that will match it.

And the winner is...........

LucasLCC

PM sent.

Sorry to those that didn't win, but keep a lookout, there may be a couple more of these deep in my pen drawer.......

I have a PIF to offer. 1 Picasso 907 Montmarte Fountain pen, Medium nib, black with Orange Bands.

It's an admittedly cheap pen I bought it off ebay on a lark, and while I like it well enough, I NEVER pick it up.

How to enter:

For 1 entry into the PIF: recommend, in this thread, a humorous novel (title and author). Not non-fiction, not a kids book. If your idea has already been suggested, you'll have to find a new one.

For a second entry: tell me a little about the book and/or why you liked it.

You can suggest more than 1, but no one will get more than 3 entries into the drawing.

No one can suggest any books by Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett. That's too easy.

I will close the drawing at a random time next week.

Very few entires into this one. :(

And the winner is:http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view2/3918147/top-cat-drum-roll-2-o.gif

Caffeinated42.

I'll contact you through PM to arrange delivery.

huhjunn, and jbeales

Congratulations!

Thank you everyone who participated. There were many deserving responses, but alas, we could just have two winners this time.

I must also thank my dearest friend who isn't on this forum, for helping me choose the winners. :-)

NOS 永生 233, a superb full-sized pen with a big ink window.

The cap is very secure and clicks audibly into place.

Nib is a true Fine by Western standards, and smoothened. Flow is 7/10. Feed is ebonite.

This PIF is open worldwide. Recipient pays shipping - a few USD.

By entering this PIF, you commit to:

  • PIFing in the near future, and
  • giving away this pen if it does not see frequent use.

PIFing does not necessarily mean giving away freebies.

You are ineligible if:

  • you have received a PIF in the past year and have not PIFed since, or
  • you have entered 70% or more of the PIFs since joining FPN, regardless of whether you won them.

Not entering, but to those who are considering the Voorhout Violet is gorgeous!

I have to forward a couple ink samples:

Diamine Kensington Blue

and

Noodler's Ottoman Azure

Requirements:

You can't have won a PIF in the last six months without having given back since then.

I'd prefer newbs to bottled ink.

You must PIF within 6 months.

Please PM me a paragraph or two to tell me why you want the PIF. Be creative! I'll cover shipping to CONUS, toss in a few bucks if you're international! I'll be drawing on my birthday, 9/28!!

Hello, I have an almos new bottle of Noodler's Bad Green Gator (I've used something like 5 ml out of the 90 ml it comes with). The ink is ok but I wont use it since I prefer darker inks. I'm in Guatemala so shipping might be an issue, but if you're interested just let me know and I'll see what can be done.

I have two pocket FPs to give away. First come, first served.

This orange Wingsung has a bulb-filler, breather tube, breather hole, oversized and springy nib, and ebonite feed, all perfectly formed. You are eligible to enter so long as you will tinker with it until it writers perfectly, then use it frequently or give it away to someone who will. Please PM with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in the subject line to enter. Recipient pays shipping - a couple of bucks.

http://i44.tinypic.com/zspd94.jpg

This NOS Golden Star is made of aluminium, and posts deeply and super-securely to become a much longer pen. You are eligible to enter unless you will waste it; you have received a PIF in the past year and have not PIFed since; or you have entered 70% or more of the PIFs since joining FPN, regardless of whether you won them. Please PM with The Great Gatsby in the subject line to enter. Recipient pays shipping - a couple of bucks.

If you meet the relevant criteria, you may enter both.
