How to enter:

For 1 entry into the PIF: recommend, in this thread, a humorous novel (title and author). Not non-fiction, not a kids book. If your idea has already been suggested, you'll have to find a new one.

For a second entry: tell me a little about the book and/or why you liked it.

I'm not wanting to enter, but I have a series I would really like to recommend. The Odd Thomas Series by Dean Koontz. The books aren't purely humor. Indeed, they get pretty dark at times. They are a mix of humor, paranormal, drama, tragedy, and mystery. Truly a wonderful series to read.

May your ways be green and golden, and the wind be at your back.

It's been a while since I PIFed so here's something specifically for a couple of Pelikan pen users. Two winners will each receive a package of long cartridges of Pelikan 4001 velvet black plus a package of short cartridges of the discontinued color Pelikan 4001 Apricot. Both are NOS and may need addition of a bit of water to bring them up to volume.

Please PM your entry with a link to one of your prior posts proving you use a Pelikan pen. Enter within 36 hours. Randomly chosen results will be posted in about 48 hours. Sorry, but limited to USA, PR, and US military with APO type addresses due to postage concerns.

Edited to add pictures and to note that this is open to all who use Pelikan, not just new FPN members.

You can suggest more than 1, but no one will get more than 3 entries into the drawing.

Here is a second book - and a third entry...

How To Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting To kill You by The Oatmeal. It is awesome, just like everything else the Oatmeal does. http://theoatmeal.com/kill#order

It's about time I got around to this.

I have a NOS French made Stypen pen set from the early 1990's to give away.

It comes with a fountain pen and matching ballpoint in a very funky African design with a cool yellow nib. It takes standard international cartridges, there's a long one included, but it's pretty old. Not sure about the ballpoint refill but I suppose it's some kind of standard.

This design screams 1992, and so does the quality control on the printing 'ahem'.

I know there's someone out there that will find it hard to exist until this beauty is safely in their collection, maybe they have a pair of happy-pants that will match it.

They're made of plastic, but they're tough, as evidenced by this one that fell out of my pocket when I was riding my bike to work. I found it a few days later, after it had been run over by a few cars, this was the only damage:

fpn_1377838079__damage.jpg

Those of you with keen eyes will have spotted the black o-ring on the damaged one. These pens are easily converted to eye-dropper fillers. If you like I'll convert this one, 'cos that's the kind of guy I am.

I'll leave this open to all comers, no restrictions, and I'll cover the postage to anywhere in the world.

If you think this could be your next pen, send me a PM by noon on Friday the 6th of September (Australian EST), that's one week, and I'll pick a winner at random.

"Did I do that?"

Cheers,

omk.

I wouldn't mind some, but a very nice person just sent some our way ^_~. So I don't feel right submitting my name.

I wouldn't mind trying the apricot, but I don't have a Pelikan to use them in. I think, if no one else expressed interest, Alc3261 MORE THAN deserves them. She has PiF'd so much to so many, after all.

I agree that Alc3261 is a deserving requester, but the original post did specify that the carts would be sent only to areas with USA domestic postal rates. Sorry.

Hello guys, first post, didn't find the exact area to introduce myself (what a better place than here?), im Lone Coyote, and im a new fountain pen enthusiast; I just purchased my first FP, an unexpensive Pilot Metropolitan, in silver with diagonal finish.

Nice to meet you guys, and I hope to see you around.

Cheers,

Just to point you in the right direction Lone Coyote, make sure you post an intro in the "Welcome All New Members!" forum. ^_~

Just so you are aware, postage to the UK etc for such a small item would not be significant. While postal cost have gone up considerably from the US small items do not cost a lot. I had a nib in a sample vial sent me by a friend which came at letter rate.

Hello everyone!

I have some lovely inks that I'd like to PIF samples of to let folks try them out. I'll send anywhere in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, but not internationally (sorry, lovely international folks, but I have no idea how shipping works outside the US).

Please PM me if you want a free sample of:

Noodler's Polar Brown

Organics Studio Manganate (a blue-black that's more on the blue side)

Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Rose

Organics Studio Jules Verne (lovely bright blue)

Please PM me your address is you would like one or more of the samples.

Hi all,

I know I'm a new member here and a very recent casualty to the fountain pen addiction, but I noticed this thread have been having a read through. To be honest I truly have been blown away by the generosity and kindness I've seen from you all in not only running with the PIF idea but in how fair you all try and be in not abusing it or the good will of others - hats off to you all!

In saying that, I'm a huge believer in karma (god knows we all need it from time to time!) and as a special thank you to those of you who have paid it forward I would like to offer up the following:

1x Brand new Rhodia A4 lined pro book (90gsm, 80 sheets, 5 removable plastic sleeves, extremely fountain pen friendly)

- and -

1x Brand new Quo Vadis Note 27 Prestige 2013 Weekly Planner with leather(?) cover so you can just replace the insert next year (I know we're almost 3/4 the way through the year but hopefully someone can still use it) (Also 90gsm, 8am-9pm, week to a double page, also very FP-friendly).

As I said, this is open to anyone who has paid it forward in this year's thread, regardless of age, financial situation, or geographical location. I'll pay postage to you, wherever you are, from Australia.

Please PM me with your interest and i'll be picking a recipient Sunday, September 1st.

I'm only sorry I can't offer more with this (unfortunately I'm not quite Bill Gates just yet) however it really is just a small token of thanks to what is obviously a very generous group of people. Also, in case anyone is wondering - I'm not in any way associated with either of these brands or products except for the fact that I use, and enjoy using, them.

Best of luck everyone & thanks for having me as part of the PFN community.

Have a good one,

Mike.

Hi all & a very happy fathers day to any dad's out there in Aus!

Just giving this one a quick bump for last minute entries as I will be drawing it when I get back from mowing my father-in-law's yard (say 3-4 hours).

Very sorry to all who have PM'd me and not yet received a response - absolutely hectic few days in the office.

Have a great day all (and please - anyone who's PIF'd and is interested in these, don't hesitate to send through a last minute entry)!

Mike :D

Oh if nobody wanted them I'd like the Pelikan Apricot carts?

When I was new to FPN, I thought Pelikan and universal cartridges were interchangable, but a kind person gently told me that Pelikan cartridges are proprietary. So, alc3261, if you will PM me with the link requested in my original offer and your address, I'll mail the cartridges to you. If you don't use a Pelikan yourself, of course, then the offer expires. I believe both Pelican long carts and Apricot ink are both discontinued by Pelikan.

This offer is only for alc3261. It is not open to new requests as it expired in the past.
