alc3261, you've PiFed to everyone on FPN by now, so no one else is eligible ^_~. Seriously, you are one of the most generous people here!

I am offering a new old stock fountain pen made by Golden Star in blue grey with golden cap. This is not your run of the mill, eBay variety Chinese cheapo FP. Golden Star is a well-known, old, very old penmaker. The fit and finish is superb, and the filling system is sound. The nib is fine in width. I have tested and conservatively tuned it.

This PIF is open worldwide, subject to the following:

  1. You must intend to use it often, not shove it in the back of a drawer. It follows that you must already have bottled ink, or commit to buying a bottle on winning this PIF.
  2. You cannot have been the recipient of a PIF in the last three months, unless you yourself have offered a PIF.
  3. Recipient is responsible for shipping - a few USD.

Please PM with "STARRYEYED" in the subject line to enter. I will post here once it is closed.

This PIF is closed, as I have received a good number of entries from solid candidates. Please do not PM.

This PIF is open till Friday. If i get more than one request, i will pick one at random.

I have six sample bottles of ink--five black/gray and one blue. I'd like to give them to a poor starving graduate student (US only). First PM.

Back on track.

Who would like a sample of the infamous, the fabulous Tomoe River paper? The sample is small, but sufficient for the recipient to experiment.

This PIF is open worldwide, completely free. Postage is on me. Conditions:

  • new to Tomoe River
  • commitment to paying something forward - not necessarily here, and not necessarily in the form of a freebie
  • commitment to using the sample, not letting it go to waste
  • not having been a PIF recipient in the last six months, unless you yourself have PIFed

Please PM with "RIVER" as the subject line. I will post here once the PIF is closed.

This shows that, while hooked, you are still able to share - I commend you for it! Having bought some of this paper, both loose sheets and journals, I am loth to part with even a small sample - this paper is really special. Lucky winner, enjoy!

Hello all,

Haven't been around much because I have twins (which makes me busy enough as it is!) who are sick a ridiculous amount of time (but who are, surprisingly, still very happy babies). I just wanted to pop in to offer a PIF in the form of a beautiful, hand-made two-pen case by Phil Kay.

I've happened to come by an extra one of these, and while I desperately want two more pens to fill it, I've decided that I'd rather not have an empty pen case languish unused until that eventuality occurs. When it does, I'll just buy another (but will buy his great ink sample travel holder before that, have you seen that? Smashing idea!).

Until that time, someone else should enjoy this lovely case. You can see the case on his Etsy page. I have both grey and black, and, while I'm partial to one of them, I will let the PIF winner choose which color they get. This case fits my M800s perfectly, and my M640 as well. Nice and snug, and the felt keeps it held without worry about scratches, etc. It's a little big for my Cross Century II, but that's a very slim pen. I've no other pens to test it with.

Rules:

  • Like all my PIFs, I'd like a hand-written letter/card/note sent to my office.
  • You can note the color choice (black or grey) in the note
  • Have not yet bought anything from Phil (I'd prefer to spread the news about his nice work)
  • Have not won more than one PIF before (Don't want to be too limited, but let's be fair)
  • Oh, and you really need to be an active member here. If you're one of those Google trolls who hit me up on previous PIFs, don't bother, I check. We're a community, not an Ebay sales repository, and I like it that way.

My boy is having surgery in mid-September, so I'm not likely to mail anything out until the end of September, thus a realistic deadline for entries is my birthday, Sept. 28th. Then I'll mail it out on October 1st.

Cheers, everyone.

Hi, all!

I can't recall if I've received a PIF yet, but I have one for the community. I have a box of five Lamy Black cartridges that I have no real use for. My Safari is one of my dedicated BsB pens with a c/c, so I have a box of the carts laying around. They're the long ones, marked T10 on the box. Since it's nothing fancy, I'm only going to require that you have a use for them and that you PIF, whether here or in real life. Please write me and tell me your good deed after you've won!

First come, first serve!

*Edit, I'll be asking you your story and how long you've been into pens, etc. to weed out the spammers.

This is my first PiF on FPN
These aren't fountain pens, but they're nice pens anyway
gold-filled ballpoints by Cross
Personally, I would replace the ink cartridge on both, but I don't "do" ballpoints any more; you can do with them what you like

one of them has a clip and the other doesn't (ladies' design)

my requirements:

You MUST live in the US (CONUS, AK/HI, PR)
You must be either a student, or a mentor of a student, or a parent of a student.
First person to ask for each pen "wins"

***I am currently unable to upload pictures. I'll try to do that as soon as possible***

The pen with the clip is gone. Ladies' pen is still available.
Looks like this

Thanks for the amazing response. Didn't expect so many entries and it was difficult to choose only one.

Oh that's sweet. Congratulations all winners, and congrats to Mesu for such a wonderful expansion.

And, this is a really nice pen. I have two and one is always in rotation. I really like the understated elegance of Indian pens.
