Paging Kauloltran.

Sorry to post here. Trying to message you about the pen, and get the error that you are "unable to receive messages." What's the deal there? Wanted to get some confirmation details, but now want to make sure everything is right. Ping me back.

This arrived today. Thank you so much, Daisy25! It is really beautiful.

To everyone else: if you'd like one, check out her Etsy shop. It is linked to from the blog post that was included in the original post of the giveaway. The combos of fabrics and designs are great!

Thank you! I'm so glad you like it! I love making them up, so it is fun to share.

Thought this should also be posted here.

HI FPN!

I'm only very new to the FPN, but I've been reading like mad and learning a huge amount over the past months. I joined up a little while ago, but haven't had anything to add since then - I've just been reading and learning.

I have purchased my first pen (a much-loved and equally much-maligned Lamy Safari), ordered some ink in a few shades. I'm incredibly grateful for the efforts the members here put in, so I'd like to do something to say thanks.

I have a lot of three international type cartridges that came with my ink order to give away. I'd like to give them away to someone like me : just beginning in the world of fountain pens, and without the financial means to experiment much. I don't require you to provide your CV or the reasons you should be chosen - I trust that the people who put their names forward are doing it for the right reasons :)

The lot has one cartridge each of the following colours from the Diamine range:

Midnight

Emerald

http://diamineinks.co.uk/images/ITEMS/280.jpg

Chocolate

http://diamineinks.co.uk/images/ITEMS/566.jpg

I'll draw a name from a hat a week from today :)

Hi beetle, Thanks for the awesome offer! I would love to have some inks to experiment with! That is if you ship internationally. I also just started with fountain pens, and being an intern in Germany I can only dream of owning all the beautiful inks on-line. I would be very appreciative of the inks and would happily do a review for each if chosen!

My name is Stephan by the way ;P

Beetle,

A very nice gesture on your part since your new to FPN. I am a newbie as well, but since joining FPN have purchased ten fountain pens and twelve bottles of ink. Just another addiction, no need to include me, just wanted to say thanks for your act of kindness.

Free to a good home (or three)

Three pens, none terribly marvelous. I got a bulk buy on eBay, and, while there were some good ones, there were some less so. So, I'm passing them along to anybody who might be inclined to play with them - either as "learn pen repair" pens, or as a novelty of one variety or another. The caps may or may not actually belong to the pen. All three are lever fillers, all three take ink and have working innards, and all three write.

The top one (red) is a Windsor, with a Windsor nib. The ring between the section and the body is a little loose. The nib has a little spring to it.

Next one (grey) is a Chilton Wing-Flow, with a Windsor cap. The section is a little loose, and it does have an older sac in it, but, the sac is still quite solid and accepts ink.

Bottom one (silver) is an Arnold (if the cap is to be believed). The cap is a poor fit for posting, but fits securely over the nib end.

Again, all three work; all three can probably be made to work better; none of the three are terribly exciting to me.

I'm opening this one up to anybody, worldwide. PM me with the one(s) you are interested in, and I'll draw at random, this Saturday evening (Eastern time).

Paying forward a Lamy Z50 Broad Nib, Lamy cartridges and Pay It Forward wristbands, together.

Criteria

This PIF is open worldwide. However, entrants must at the time of sending in their entry:

  1. own a Lamy FP that is compatible with the Z50 nib
  2. commit to PIF-ing in some way in their own community (not necessarily giving away freebies)
  3. have been an active member of FPN for a month or more

To enter, please PM with Z50 in the subject line, and the model and colour of the Lamy FP(s) that you own, before 21 June 2013. If you are a student on a tight budget despite your best efforts, you may inform me. If you have received a PIF on FPN within the last six months, you are still eligible, but you must inform me.

PIF ends a little early, as entries had stopped trickling in.

The winner is

unless no response is received.

I have gotten a lot of great replies about this pif....Wow. Since this is my first FPN pif i didn't know what to truly expect. I feel bad about leaving this open for to long so I am going to go ahead and close it down now. I will be sending out all three of these sampler packs plus some extras to other folks that pm'd me also. Everyone made some compelling cases but i had to choose the top 5. I grabbed a few more sampler packs and got those ready as well. I wish i could buy ink for the world but unfortunately i have to limit myself :(

Congrats to:

Thank you very much for selecting me. I feel much honored!

And thank you also for your PIF! Because your PIF has now established 5 return PIF's! Actually more than five, because when I do my PIF I want to make an offer to more than one person also - so the benefit will increase exponentially.

Thank you again, and I look forward to posting you a hand written letter with one of the ink samples!
