Pay It Forward 2013

Recommended Posts

Thanks to the recent kindness of a FPN member, I've decided to do my part and pif some unused pens. I have 4 hero 616 pens. I'd like for them to go to one person, but may be willing to split them. If I can find some empty vials I will also include some ink samples.

Criteria:

Since I am a broke grad student, I'd like to see these go to a fellow graduate student. PM me your current university/college, what program you are in, how far along, and a little bit about yourself (this could include favorite pen, ink, hobbies...). If I do not get entries I will open it up to everyone.

Drawing will end Sunday at 11:59 pm eastern time.

Winner and runner up have been notified!

I have only recently returned to writing with fountain pens and this site has been such a wealth of information. I am truly grateful. I'm doing a giveaway on a fountain pen wrap on my blog and wanted to make sure that the FPN people know about it.

Thank you to DanielCoffey for the Diamine ink! Now I get to try out this brand. These are some wonderful colors and I am most thankful for them. Now with these three, I have six inks! I would like to do a writing sample, but nobody hold their breath on it. haha :) God bless and thank you Daniel. :)

Since I had only two takers for the mystery PiF, I've decided to honor both. sethk and mmkoenecke, please email me your mailing address, and I will send each of you one of these school pens to play with. I do hope you will let me know how they work out for you. And if you fix their hardstartsomeness, I claim the right to know how...

Anyhow, thanks for playing, and enjoy!

In the spirit of paying it forward, I am going to PIF with two 20ml vials of Akkerman Ink, as pictured below:

The two inks aforementioned are Akkerman Shocking Blue (#5) and Voorhout Violet (#15).

I will open this PIF to everybody, worldwide. To be in the running, simply send me a PM stating your ink preference; also, tell me which would be the first pen you'd ink it up with, and why.

I will put the entries into my trusty top hat and pick two winners on Saturday, June 7th.

...aaaannd entries are closed! Stay tuned while I sort out the entries and pick the winners. :happyberet:

Update

And the winners are...

I'd like to thank everyone for showing interest in my PIF. I hope to do more in the future.

Weekend reminder.

Paying forward a Lamy Z50 Broad Nib, Lamy cartridges and Pay It Forward wristbands, together.

This PIF is open worldwide. However, entrants must at the time of sending in their entry:

  1. own a Lamy FP that is compatible with the Z50 nib
  2. commit to PIF-ing in some way in their own community (not necessarily giving away freebies)
  3. have been an active member of FPN for a month or more

To enter, please PM with Z50 in the subject line, and the model and colour of the Lamy FP(s) that you own, before 21 June 2013. If you are a student on a tight budget despite your best efforts, you may inform me. If you have received a PIF on FPN within the last six months, you are still eligible, but you must inform me.

This arrived today. Thank you so much, Daisy25! It is really beautiful.

Update:
As three full days have passed and Witterstruck has not replied, I have drawn a new winner.

The new winner for Akkerman #5 is...

Please send me a PM with your mailing address within three days, else I'll pick yet another winner from the hat.

EDIT: I'm very, very sorry for the confusion! I picked a winner from the wrong pile. The winner of the #15 is Harlequin, and I have redrawn the winner for #5. My sincerest apologies for the mistake - it's been a long day and I need my caffeine. Edited by mAnuscript69

Congratulations to OldFashionedScript for winning the Lamy ink cartridges PIF :)

OFS, I've PM'd you...

Thank you Lovely_Pen!!!

I am looking so forward to receiving the cartridges. :D; they will go to good use right away.

We were both out of town during this PIF, so I apologize for the delay in posting this  , but I do greatly appreciate the PIF. I hope to list my second PIF soon.
