A Spring Break PIF: Blossoms and Butterflies

fpn_1364486884__online_pen_3.jpg

A dear and FP-loving academic colleague of mine just GAVE me outright four pens she isn't using. :yikes: :notworthy1:

She doesn't like to use cartridges, and she said she was having trouble using a converter with these even though they should take one. One was a Levenger True Writer (which I'd always wanted and could never afford to buy), and another was a 'Vintage' NN in black with the gold furniture. Yay! That completed my 'Vintage' set! :cloud9:

The other two pens I am going to PIF, in order to spread around Michelle's astonishing largesse.

Here is the first one: a feminine and very pretty pen from the German company Online.

As you can see, it is white and decorated with pink and lavender flowers and butterflies. It's extremely cute, and perfect for a teenage girl or someone else who likes pink (I don't care for pink, so it's just not my cup of tea). It has an open nib, M. It is, however, rather on the heavy side, as it's metal and not plastic.

A couple more images:

fpn_1364486872__online_pen_2.jpg

fpn_1364486855__online_pen_1.jpg

As you can see, the shape of the pen shows that it's designed to be posted, and the bottom of the barrel is shaped to make that possible.

PM me to apply. (NB: I will not be online Good Friday or Easter Sunday) I will draw one random number on Tuesday, April 2. If you won one of my Parkers earlier, please don't apply for this one. USA only, please.

Happy Spring!

Granted, none of these are FPN members, but I'm helping swell the global ranks :)

Got my roomate hooked, got him his first two pens (metro and a safari), and free samples of all my inks.

Swell the ranks.

Agreed! I end up PIF-ing much more at school than I do on the forum. There are four more people on my campus who have caught the bug now!

I too do that way too much. At my campus, most students don't question it, but I have caught 3 of my cycling team's members using fountain pens after they saw me using them :) Yay for being their ink supplier! thumbup.gif

Thank you alc3261 for the Parker I.M. Blue with the medium nib. I received it just over a week ago but have been really busy and I haven't been able to write a thank you note. I have used this pen quite a bit in the past week and it has been great. Here is a writing sample below with the stock cartridge (Parker Quink Blue). Sorry for the cheap paper, it was all I had around me at the time. Also the camera flash makes it look a lot worse than it really is. Anyway it's a great pen. Thanks! (Sorry for the bad handwriting; this was done at 1 am right before bed)

Yesterday, I gifted a Pilot Metropolitan to a good friend, along with 5 ink samples. He was BEYOND excited about it.

His exact words: "I'm a drinking problem away from being a real writer now!"

First, well done. Second, you might warn your friend that lumping groups of people together like that, especially drinkers and writers, is a quick way to hurt feelings. He's liable to give all drinkers a bad name.

I stumbled on this post while doing research on fountain pens for my copywriting for print course. I'm currently a student in the Communication Arts department of the Savannah College of Art & Design approaching my last semester. This is a quite generous offer and if it's still available, I would love to test a professional pen out for myself. I hope the new year is treating you well!

I will give this package to the first college or highschool student who responds. This will be international with me paying all shipping costs. What we have here is a bottle of Lamy ink, a Noodlers Ahab flex pen, two black and red notebooks, one Clairefontaine notebook, one Clairefontaine Triomphe A5. Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone,

I am sorry about the delay...we had a death in the family and this has taken us out of town; among other things, as I am sure you can imagine. I plan to draw a winner very soon for my first PIF; a homemade pen holder and reply to the two PIFs I have won over the last few months. I just wanted to let you know there is a reason for my absence. Thank you for your understanding.

Inky PIF

http://www.everydaypens.com/img/cms/Diamine/Diamine_Bottle_30ml.jpg

I accidentally picked up a second 30mL bottle of Diamine Sapphire Blue and since it will probably take me ages to get through the first one I think I'll give it away instead. While I'm at it I'll throw in an extra three ink samples.

To enter just PM and let me know you favorite ink color. There's no correct answer I just want to hear them all!

Rules

- Sorry at this time I can only ship to the U.S.

- If you've won a PIF from me previously or have a large ink collection please let this PIF go to someone else. Thanks.

EDIT - Forgot to add how long this would be open. Since the package from Diamine hasn't yet arrived I'll give everyone a chance to see this PIF. Lets leave this open until next Monday. Also forgot to add the winner will be picked randomly by random.org.

And the winner is...

#9 nxn96!

I'm working on a couple of more PIFs to be posted in a short while, so if you didn't win there will be some more opportunities soon.

Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie to fountain pens and to the FPN and this is my FIRST PIF, however, I have already been the recipient of a PIF and I wanted to pay it forward myself as soon as possible. I saw the PIF listed recently by Craig Forsyth and I thought it was a wonderful idea to make a pen holder! Since I am new I didn't have much to offer in the way of a pen, so I thought a homemade pen holder would be the perfect idea.

As you can see it's nothing spectacular, especially since my sewing machine and I had a falling out during its making, but it is useful and soft. It can hold three pens and there is also a slightly larger space for things such as ink cartridges or converters. Additionally, it has a Velcro closure.

This PIF is open worldwide and all I ask is for anyone interested to PM me; please tell me why you would be the best new owner of this PIF, along with your age and location. I will be drawing the winner within the next two weeks.

Thank you to all on the FPN for the wonderful generosity! I am glad I can now be a part of it.

And the winner is...drumroll please...mmkoenecke! :bunny01: Congrats and thank you to everyone that entered; as my collection grows I hope to be offering another PIF in the future.

~A PM has been sent to mmkoenecke.
