I have a pen here id like to pay it forward with. It is a Lamy Safari in a navy/royal blue colour with a F nib, only been used with one Lamy cartridge before! I just cant get away with the triangular grip. I am happy to refil the empty cartridge that is in it with ink before posting. To quality you have to love pens :-) if you can afford to just go buy one for fun or dont need it though please state in your PM as it may help me choose who to send it to, PM me with your reason for wanting this pen and ill pick a winner when I have a few applications. UK only due to postage costs, though I may be tempted to post elsewhere. Id rather send my old pens to a good loving home than pop them in the bin or on ebay!

EDIT: Worldwide postage is £3.30/ US $5 so I can cover that for this one pen, I now pronounce this PIF worldwide :-D I am a uni student too, students I feel your pain when it comes to pens :-)

Another post from me :-)

Pilot 78G M nib, a bit fine for my liking. Currently loaded with Diamine Turquoise and will be shipped with ink in unless you want it emptying.

http://www.hisnibs.com/images/Pilot/Pilot78Gred.jpg

Pilot 78g F nib again too fine for me

http://www.hisnibs.com/images/Hero/Hero330Burgundy2.jpg

Hero 330 - good writer the pen I am giving away is actually green like the one below.

http://www.pw-akkerman.nl/merken/Hero/616a_616b/DSCN8190_Hero_616a_1000.jpg

Hero 616 - good writer

I have chosen to give away the 330 and 616 as I have a parker 17 which is a superior pen and very similar in looks. I prefer C/C pens for playing with various coloured inks because theyre easier to clean so these just have no place here.

I appreciate all these pens are budget pens, but they're all good in their own right. I'd rather send them to people than chuck them out :-) I havent taken photos of the actual pens because they're all as new. They have been flushed out and will be refilled with a mystery ink before sending :-) no conditions on these just a PM on why you'd want any or all of these. The 78g's would be great for a student using very poor paper, as their lines are so fine even with feathering on cheap paper they should be fine and still not use up too much ink. The Hero pens lay down a thicker line but are still quite economical with ink.

EDIT: UK only, sending all these pens at £3.30/$5 a pop plus packing costs to the whole world is a bit out of my price range, im a student sorry! Not sure if it is against the rules but if you pay your postage ill ship worldwide.

I wanted to say that all the generosity here is amazing and the community at FPN is just great. I'm really impressed with what people will do for others in this community!

Now, while it isn't a PiF that helps the community directly - I have ordered a Pilot Metropolitan and several inks that I will be giving to a friend of mine who is an aspiring writer. I figure he needs a proper pen if he's going to be a writer!

I definitely will be looking to do a PiF for all of you in the future. Without great folks promoting these great pens - I would have never tried one and would not be here.

I Own:

Sheaffer 100 - Matte Black w/Nickel Plate Trim - Fine Nib

Tobmow Object - Petrol Blue - Extra Fine Nib

Another PIF - for those who would like a Fine Nib!!

Parker - Frontier: Translucent Blue CT Fountain-Pen, Chrome Trims, Steel Fine Nib.

fpn_1362964562__61hko-htrrl_aa1500_.jpg

Usual rules - No previous Winners (unless applying for someone else), those with only 1-2 pens preferred.

PM me with Age, Location and Why you would like this pen.

Good Luck!!

And the winner is:- OldFashionedScript :bunny01:

Would love to hear how you get on with this pen. I'm still(!) waiting for my new M Frontier but if the F is also a good writer I might have to add it to my ever-growing wishlist. I absolutely adored my original Frontier so enjoy!

Disclaimer: Sight of my handwriting has been known to cause spontaneous cross-eye syndrome and temporary blindness.

Here is my write-up of Shaughn's P25:

And chiaroscuro's Pilot Petit1:

These have been delayed due to school, work, and the three publications I write/edit for. I will be doing this at some point for Renfield's Baoer 8 Horses and tomgartin's Hero 616s, both of which I am super excited to receive!

Edit: On a side note, what image uploading service should I use? I don't have much more space on my personal wiki. Also, is there an optimal resolution for the FPN? This is the first time I have uploaded pictures here, and it didn't let me link from postimage, which is my usual go-to.

I'm glad it found a good home. Enjoy!

Ive got a PIF

The pen in question is a brand new(well almost) Nemosine Singularity Demonstrator with an extra fine nib. For some reason, I decided to buy 2 of the exact same pen from xfountainpens.com so I could get free shipping .-.

I've inked the pen once (well barely. I twisted the converter and stopped it right as the ink started entering the converter just to test out the pen) and it works fine. I just don't know what I would do with it. There are cracks on the cap, but that is a known issue with the Singularity and it shipped like that.

It can use standard international cartridges and it comes with the included converter, but I hear you can also use it as an eyedropper. However, the threads for the barrel and the cap are kinda right next to each other so you might want to be careful. Sometimes I end up unscrewing the barrel instead of the cap.

Right now I'm still in school and finals are coming up, so I think I'll end the PIF on 3/24, when my spring break starts (Who decided to make finals from tuesday to saturday? >.<)

PM me to enter, and I'll randomly draw a winner at the end.

PS.

Even after you win, it might take a while to ship while I figure out how to ship it .-. I've got no supplies (for now)

edit: I can only ship to the USA, sorry. CONUS participants only.

Just bringing this back up in case anyone hasn't seen it. A little over a week left and I've got 6 entries atm

Well, there were 26 entries for the Pelikan PIF and I gave each one a number. Asked my husband to pick a number and he picked 19, which was MtRoll.

Congratulations, I'll post the pen as soon as I get your address! I wish I had enough pens to be able to gift you all one!!

Awesome!,

Hopefully I can get this one fixed up and running, if I can't then I'll mail it off to someone who thinks they can...

Hey guys, I thought I'd like to follow up on this.

I received the pen yesterday and after inking it up (bad idea) it proceeded to dump ink everywhere, nib wrote great though. So when I flushed it, when the piston was fully extended, the ink window section was almost pushed clean off of the barrel :yikes: . There was also a few large cracks visible (caused by shipping?).

I read up some old threads about similar issues and decided to use epoxy even though people claimed that it caused some crazing of the plastic. This did not happen and even if it did, the cracks would really affect clarity anyway. I sealed up the cracks and glued the ink window thingo back onto the barrel and now, I'm pleased to report that it's working!

More pens from me :-) all were flushed out a few days ago some were dipped for writing this others had std int carts put in them. Handwritten this time, if I am going to give my pens away I wanted to play with them for one last time. Enjoy my chicken scratch, I can do fancy and neat but it was 6 am saturday morning here when I wrote this ... no chance!

You can enter for more than one pen :-) most people want the safari which is fine but please love other pens too <3 they deserve a loving home. If you really cannot afford postage at all I can cover a few but not all as im a student and say I ship 10 pens worldwide thats £33 before packing materials. I may send more than one pen to each person if they say they want a few so dont be shy to ask, its not very british to ask for things but brits get asking, worldwide too :-)

I wanted to say thank you to two PiF donors here, for PiFs I won in february. Both were pens that needed repair work, and I wanted a shot. Both had nib problems, and both, in addition to that, had filler system problems that I had not counted on and was unable to do anything about. But the nibs were within my reach, if just barely. I managed to get both of them writing again and they passed a dip test. Then I sent them to fellow FPNer Lexaf because I would not even know how to begin to repair a button filler, or a lever filler. Surprise... Lexaf was able to fully restore both pens, both are now working beautifully. I have a Majestic with an italic nib (reground from the one with a broken tine) and an Osmia 222 with a slightly flexy gold nib that Lex said made me a sumgai...

Thanks mmkoenecke and shaughn. Your pens have a new lease on life, and I have learned some new skills... and acquired a pen repairer for those things I am not ready to attempt.

Many thanks to two PIF donors - one sent me a Parker Reflex, and I'm being sent a Pilot for a friend who isn't on here, but I know will very much enjoy writing and drawing with a very fine nibbed fountain pen.

I'd like to offer one of my pen cases as a PIF - they hold 3 pens, are made of non-wool felt (so are vegan).

Anyone is welcome to apply, but I only have one spare at the moment.
