Pay It Forward 2013

I wonder if there is any "official documentation" floating around on stuff like this- not just Esterbrook, but other brands that seem to have differing or conflicting names- or even worse, no "official" name that most people can resort to.

I don't like to answer this in this thread because it is the PiF thread and not a discussion thread. But if you are interested in some of the pens that meet this criterion, go find out about the Waterman Confuser. Actually almost all of the major brands had "confusers". There are a variety of reasons. One they liked to use up all the stuff in the factory. Another, inexperienced servicemen returning from war, who got work in pen factories. You should go ask this question in each of the major manufacturer forums.

Another Parker IM Profile PIF

Blue this time!!

Usual rules apply:- Newbies preferred, No previous winners (unless applying for somebody else), Please state your age (or >30!!) and location. Good Luck!! :D

I do get 20-30 responses to these PIFs so I can't give everyone a pen!!

Please understand I am trying to encourage people new to fountain pens so the winners will be those who most closely match this description.

Yet, you may consider your answer as an PIF thingy, free for all. But then, it's just 'not done' to ask for a PIF. Blame the guilty, praise the (for)giving!

Please don't feel bad for not giving everyone a pen! No one expects that. You are very thoughtful for giving ANY of the pens away.

Thank you

TAKEN : SIX DIAMINE INTL SHORT CARTRIDGES

SHIP TO : WORLDWIDE

I have a ziplock bag containing the following International Short Cartridges which Diamine have included in my most recent order. The bag contains...

2x Blue/Black

2x Umber

2x Monaco Red

The cartridges are unlabelled so you will have to employ a bit of logic and possibly a Magic 8-Ball to work out which is which.

I will ship this worldwide so if those of you in far-flung places would like to try some good British ink, please PM me and I will notify the lucky owner in a few hours subject to interest.

There's still one more day to toss your name in the hat to sin a sweet, Czech-Republic-produced Centropen Pluto. It's a pretty smooth writer, and has a demonstrator barrel with a green textured section.

It's easy: just send me a PM that tells me where I should go on my next international trip, how, and why. (1-2 sentences max.)

I really will take the suggestions seriously, as I am planning a trip!

The Diamine Short Cartridges have now been taken and I will reply to the PMs I received. I know it was only a few small carts but I like being able to pass them on rather than leaving them in a drawer.

It's not the worth or quantity, more the usability and the fact others will do with it what you would not have! Good show! PiF is rewarding no matter what you give.

I'm hoping that this image has uploaded, I have used the upload button for the first time. My daughter has recently benefited from the generosity of members on his board and I would like to offer another PIF. Hopefully this should be a picture of a pale blue Pilot Prera with a fine nib.

Here are the rules.....

1. Unfortunately only on offer to UK members, these pens are fairly expensive in the UK in comparison and would like to give someone who couldn't really afford one the opportunity to own one.

2. PM your name and your reason for wanting to be entered into the draw

3. Priority will be given to those without a large collection of FP's, if you could afford to buy one please don't apply.

4. I will draw a winner on Wednesday evening.

5. Finally in honour of my upcoming trip to Disney tell me your favourite Disney character, upon my return I will endeavour to post a photo of the most popular character using a FP.

I will send an ink sample of your choice from my current collection. This is listed in a post I made recently to the British ink sample exchange thread in inky thoughts.

Best of luck. X

Wowowowowowowow!!!!! Thank you so much! This means a lot to me. Generally speaking I am not one to win many drawings and giveaways. Thank you again. I'll make sure to write a thank you note using the pen.

It's the Weekend so we might as well have a New PIF!!

Brushed Chrome Parker IM (Metal Body) Medium Nib.

Nice Pen!!

fpn_1361551388__parker-im-fountain-pen-.jpg

I want to give a nice pen to someone who only has 1 or 2 other pens.

No previous PIF winners (unless applying for someone else).

This would suit anyone from 14 upwards I would say.

I'm going to make this slightly harder - PM me with the reasons why you feel this pen is for you!!

Happy birthday to you. Yes it is a very satisfying click. Holds the cap on very nicely too. I had "Not quite burgundy" in it and actually thought of sending it with the cartridge I had filled with that ink, but it is generally bad form to send a loaded pen just in case of leaks, so I removed it and it is now evaporating on my desk.

If that is the 'mystery dollar store Sheaffer' you referred to in the picture, it's a NoNonsense. Definitely a GREAT pen!!

Wow. Yeah, I had trouble with it in the beginning, switched to Noodler's instead of the Skrip cartridges that dried out about 3 months afterward... It's a bit too thick for normal writing (Bold nib) but works for the other stuff I do.

Gotta love the 99 Cent Store.
