Pay It Forward 2013

Hi

I received the Parker jotter today from ALC..its a beautiful metallic pen with a M nib. The parker jotter was made in france and the year mark suggests 1991 1st quarter :). The section is a black plastic. (please refer the photos in the link)

Alc had sent a handwritten note along with the carefully packed pen. The previous hand written note i received by post was around 16 years back :). The package had a stamp "royal mail" from UK, which definitely made a great appeal :)

i flushed the section and squeezed a quink cart. with a cart squeeze, it started writing brilliantly.. Its bit small for my hands, but it will be the best one for the student on behalf of whom i applied..

I have bought a card and key chain to welcome the new member of FP :) am going to give the pen today evening.

thanks again ALc for your nice gift :)

Hi Alc3261,

Belated bday wishes and thank you very much for the PIF.

I had applied on behalf of a student who is inspired by seeing my usage of FP. This will be a surprise gift..:) and am sure its a great feeling for the student whose interest in FP is rewarded immediately with a wonderful pen..

Thanks again

So, it being my birthday today I'm drawing this PIF:-

The winners are hariharan and Mt.Roll (in addition to Zachwozniak already drawn).

Please PM me your addresses!!

The person to whom the Sheaffer Feather Touch would be going to is: pandabirdy1 !!!

And the Lamy abc would be going to: bmoline!

Please contact me ASAP with your shipping addresses!

Thanks Russ, for letting me give that Sheaffer out to someone who'd appreciate it more than I do!

Cheers, and a good weekend to all!

Thank you so much Thomas and Russ - the Sheaffer arrived today! cloud9.gif

It was another scorcher here with bushfires north of the city - 37 celsius, and I was worried it had been melting in the letterbox....

I've inked it up with Diamine Meadow and it's writing smoothly. I had a wee look online and think it's an Touchdown Admiral.

Thanks to everyone who PIF's, and I hope to be able to do the same soon. clap1.gif

A lovely pen and a lovely note! I wonder what ink ALC used. Kinda looks like Noodler's Nightshade or maybe Tulipe Noire.

Time to Pay it forward.

I have 2 lots to offer. They are both inexpensive Chinese pens, so it would make sense that they go to someone who is unfamiliar with pens(It wont make a great addition to an expensive collection), or has a limited pen/ink supply. (But I wont be checking, so I am trusting you!)

HOW IT WORKS:

To Enter, all you have to do is PM me,and tell me Who was the author of Dracula?

I will will draw two numbers, the 1st number getting the first lot and the 2nd number getting the second lot.

I will draw it on Thursday 21st February (Around 10pm GMT), and send it on Monday 25th February.

Once I have drawn, I will PM the winners, and also put a notice here. They have 24 hours, to PM me their address, along with ink choice. If they don't reply by Friday, then I pick another number.

Willing to send worldwide.

SETUP:

Each PIF includes:

1. A Pen (I have worked the nib, so it is smooth)

2. A Notebook (Decent quality. Not Rhodia good, but copes with most ink)

3. 2 samples of ink(3ml), from my collection.

The Inks:

Black: Noodlers Black, Pelikan 40001 Brilliant Black

Blue: Diamine Royal Blue, Waterman Florida Blue, Parker Quink Blue/Black, R&K Salix (Iron Gall)

Red: Diamine Poppy Red, Diamine Oxblood

Purple: Waterman Purple, Diamine Violet, Diamine Damson

Brown: J Herbin Lie de The, Diamine Ochre

Green: J Herbin Lierre Sauvage, Diamine Sherwood Green

Misc: Diamine Sepia, Diamine Burnt Sienna

Ok, Hope that is all clear.....

Onto the Pictures:

LOT 1

This Pen is a copy of a Stipula. I think it is an old Hero Pen. The Nib has been smoothed out, and while it provides just a little feedback, it puts down a nice medium wet line. Comes with Converter.

The Notebook is A6. The cover is Jamacian Velvet. The pages are blank, but there is a guide sheet with both lines and grid.

This pen is a Baoer 8 Horse Pen. This nib is really nice. Smooth Line, Wet writer. Again The Nib has been smoothed out. Comes with converter.

The Notebook is A6. The cover is Harvest Hay. The pages are blank, but there is a guide sheet with both lines and grid.

I just passed one of these to someone who failed to get an earlier PiF here. These are excellent student pens. Although they are a pain to fill, requiring 12 pumps, they are really parsimonious in their ink usage and one filling will reliably last a very long time. The other thing that makes them great for students is that you can leave them uncapped while waiting to take notes. As soon as the nib touches the paper, they are off and running.

Hi ALC,

I received the pen today, and the only appropriate reply was a hand-written one!

Many thanks

Robin

Sorry everyone, things got a bit complicated at home and I completely forgot to do the drawing for the Nook! I just took the time to put everyone's PM/note in a list and number them, then took a page out of @GouletPens' book and used random.org to select the winning entry.

ModiHammarstedt was the lucky winner of the Nook. Sorry to everyone else who entered. If I had a stack of them, I'd give you all one.

Thanks everyone.

Hello again everyone! I'm back with a brand new PIF that I'm excited to gift. This time I have a couple of rules, so please read through to see if you qualify before PMing me, thanks!

1 - I can really only afford to ship this in the US at the moment. I would love to open this up to everyone, but at this time its just not feasible.

2 - If you've won a PIF from me previously, please give someone else a chance. If you're entering for another person, that's fine, just let me know.

3 - If you've won any PIF in the past 3 months, please let someone else have a chance at winning. Unless you're entering for someone else in which case just tell me.

4- Please only enter if you think you are actually going to use these items. I'd hate for them to lay around in a drawer somewhere.

How to enter: I'm going to try something a bit more fun this time. I'm a photographer (and general art lover) and would love to know your favorite photographer. PM me with their name (feel free to add why if you would like to). If someone names one of my top 5 favorite photographers, they will win the package. If more than one person picks one of my top 5 I will use random.org to draw between them. If nobody picks any of them I will use random.org to choose between everyone who entered. I will draw Monday (the 25th) afternoon.

What's in it?

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8377/8492198865_03b354b69e.jpg

1 - One Clairefontaine 1951 notebook. Color will be whatever I have on hand at the time, probably black.

2 - One Pilot 78G Broad stub. You can choose the body color, I have have black, red and green on hand.

3 - Write Now, the Getty-Dubay Program for Handwriting Success - This is a great book on italic handwriting, slightly used but still in good condition.

4 - 3 ink samples from my (small) collection. I'll send you a list you can choose from, or I'll surprise you if you'd like!

That's it! PM away!
