Is that a cello in the background??.. I feel like I know the music..

You most certainly do, as Meditation from the opera Thais is one of the most famous pieces in the violin repertoire. Here is just one example:

I believe I sent her samples of Noodlers Baystate blue, Black and Red, and a bottle of Iroshizuku Momiji. Cary can correct me if I'm wrong...been a couple of weeks:)

Carys's mum here! Yes Rustymac40 you are right, your memory serves you better than mine. Can I add my gratitude to you and others that have PIF'd items to her she really is very grateful and puts it all into very good use and spreads out the fountain pen joy. I believe she will be PIF'ing something soon, mum may throw something in too.

Anyone know why sometimes I get an error message when sending PM's that says something like "you can't start another PM until..."?

You can only send one message within a certain number of seconds. If you are double clicking 'Add reply' rather than single clicking it, then you are trying to send 2 messages at the same time.

I've got four Chinese pens that need to go to new homes to make room in the pen box.* SORRY BUT UK ONLY PLEASE BECAUSE OF POSTAL COSTS TO OTHER COUNTRIES.*

Left to right - or should I say top to bottom. :headsmack:

1. No-name fake Mont Blanc. I've never used it so can't guarantee how it writes.

2 No-name. Again - never used.

3. Jinhao.

4. Jinhao.

All come with converters.

Please PM to let me know which one you would like.

! Number 2 (Orange) already gone!

WOW! These are going fast! No.1 - the green fake Mont Blanc has gone now. That just leaves the two Jinhao's.

No. 4 Jinhao is now on hold - just leaves No. 3 to find a new home.

ONLY ONE LEFT! FREE TO A GOOD HOME ****IN THE U.K. ONLY PLEASE****

Jinhao Shimmering Sands.

ALL FOUR PENS HAVE GONE OFF TO NEW HOMES. I hope those that got one, enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed giving them. :happyberet:

Wow, the cards and letters came in en masse today from people entering into [/me looks back in thread to remember what crazy title he came up with…] The Caveat Emptor Letter Month Lottery! What a nice way to do a lottery. Lots of pens, paper and ink to look at. Nice handwriting people! Lots for me to aspire too. (A couple of them required a cryptographer, but it was really pretty cryptography, really :happyberet: ). Also, for those of you who sent cards- and there are some really great cards– thank you, what a nice idea.

I think most from CONUS and Canada must have arrived. Still waiting on some from overseas by people who said they were going to send something, but just had to remark about how fun it was to receive all these entries.

The plan is to lay them all out, number each one, then use a random number generator to select the winner so that things like spectacular Western Cowgirl dress-shaped cards (#seriously? That's so awesome!) receive neither advantage nor disadvantage.

You people rock.

Well I didn't say it wouldn't be appreciated. :) I'll wait for it. There are still one or two coming from further away. Korea takes the record, I think.

Dark. That's all he could see through the haze of exhaustion and too many glasses of Pinot Grigio. He was convinced there were other things out there - stars, traffic maybe, even the ocean. But, he was on holidays and none of that mattered. All that mattered was that his kids were asleep in the bedroom, more family was joining him in the next 24 hours, and this was the best holiday on which he'd ever been.

Ok, I am approximately 3200 miles away from my pens, so it seems like a good time to give one away. I have been the recipient of a ton of generousity on this forum and, being on holidays, am in a dang good mood.

But, I am totally ripping off John Metta's idea. I want mail. In fact, I want you to write me a short story - 6 words or 6000, I don't care. I love stories, and I want to read yours. Fiction, non-fiction, mystery, biopic, I don't care, honestly. I want to read your stories, and to encourage this, I'll give you a pen. This pen:

Pic one

Pic two

Hopefully those work. It is a fine, wet Guider Acrylic (with a press-bar filler). I have used it a couple times, blue inks both times, so the sac is stained purple (because that makes total sense). I'll make sure the rest of it is cleaned, shined, and as pretty as it was when I got it...which was very pretty.

If you'd like to be entered, please PM me. I'll give you my address, to which you can send your story. I will draw on April 1, 2013 from all the mail I have actually received, so don't delay.

It's a bit disingenuous to call that my idea. This is a forum dedicated to an analog writing instrument. It's everyone's idea.

Nice thought about the story, though. Stories are part of what make us Human.

Ooooh, looks like a Sheaffer NoNonsense a bit doesn't it? Great PiF! Did you mean April 1st, not March 1st, as your draw date? That's a nice big window!

Yep, drawing April 1 from what I have received, rather than waiting for items post dated by a certain date. Plus, I'm asking for a story ;)
