I'm speechless. Honestly, I am. I have been essentially staring at the screen here for a while writing something, erasing it, and rewriting- only to do it all again. The 149 is my first dream pen. Since coming here, I've found more "dream pens", lol- but none ever took the spot of the 149 at the very top. I now, thanks to Rusty (and Joker4eva!) now have the chance to call a 149 my own. I don't know if that would have happened otherwise.

Thank you Rusty. I can't say it more emphatically or more sincerely. Thank you!

I have never seen or experienced such generosity in my life. I want you to know that every item will be well used and cherished. One day, after discovering, experiencing, and just plain having fun, we too will share the generous gifts we have been given with others. And I look forward to that day. Because teaching a child to give and share is so much more important than wanting. So, thank you again.

You lucky son of a gun! I guess your tshirt was right huh?

(By the way, you forgot to throw in a VPP promo in your speech!)

I wish I had more pens to give away, it is exciting seeing the happy response from the winners.

I agree. I've given away two of my pens so far and I REALLY want to give away more. Sad because I've got no other pens that don't have sentimental value, so I'll probably need to buy a few pens to PiF. I'm one of those people that REALLY enjoy giving :D

Congrats to all the winners! I was hoping to get drawn for the 149 as that is the only way I would ever be able to own one.(thanks Rusty and others!!)

All that being said, I have entered several, only been PIF'd some ink samples (which should arrive any day now), but because I only have 3 pens a couple of different inks and funds are relatively limited right now so I keep wracking the old brain on what I can do for a PIF - still working on it, though.

Runnin_Ute,

Don't you dare feel like you need to pif. When it's comfortable have fun with it  Until then, we need people throwing their names in hats to keep this fun. Who knows...once I start paying college tuition for my kids, I may have my name in every hat I can find:) lol

Scholarships can be replacements to hats. Better sign em up for every single one you hear about! :)

Thanks Russ.

No one said I was in a hurry to do so. I am just trying to figure out a way to do it as there will be a time it will be appropriate to do so. Why not start to plan now? I was just thinking in terms of types of things I could do. Right now it would be something like papers or ink samples, unless I either spend some money or run across something really cool that I would share the wealth with.

Ok, in honor of Russ's craziness generosity and trust in allowing me to have a test drive his MB 149 before giving it away, I've also got a few things to give away.

Russ might not have informed you, but he did give me a Sheaffer Feather Touch. Despite the fact that he GAVE me the pen, and it didn't suit me well, I thought it would be nice if someone who could appreciate it could enjoy it, as Russ certainly intended it to. It's green, and has a 14k gold nib.

Next up, this one is from my own stash. I've actually got a red Lamy abc that I got for EKE when he/she posted his/her daughter's pictures here. Seeing that he mentioned that the red Lamy abc was "her favourite pen", I thought I could put a smile on that beautiful girl's face by getting her what she wanted. But EKE declined the offer, and here I am with a Lamy abc for no one.

So, I guess here are the rules:

  1. For the Sheaffer Feather Touch: I'd like to give this to someone who hasn't had a chance this year to win anything from the PIF program. Although I wouldn't be checking, I just think it'll be nice if someone who hasn't a chance to win anything have it this time. I also think it'll be nice if people who hasn't had the chance yet to experience vintage American pens are able to own this pen, but I'd like to warn the prospective winner, that this pen is OLD, around 50+ years and counting, and they'll be able to appreciate the historical value of this pen.
  2. For the Lamy abc: I'd like to send this pen to a parent, or parents-to-be. It'll be nice if the child has a chance to learn how to write with a fountain pen, as this was an experience I've never had.

So I'll be posting pictures up soon, and I'll be picking the winners next week, on the 1st of February, at around 3pm CET.

Have fun, and continue sharing!

Thomas

Forgot: Send me a PM to enter, and state which pen you would like to win!

Soooo, I'm guessing that I'm not really in the "target group" for this one Joker? LOL! Sorry, I couldn't resist. I hope whoever gets these REALLY enjoys them, especially the feather touch!

Having won a couple of PIF items for two of my children in the last few months, this lot is intended fo go to a youngster. They don't necessarily need to be a member of FPN, members can apply on their behalf. I'd like these to go to someone under the age of 18, but I can only post to the UK and EU countries. On offer is

4 x Aurora Black cartridges

1 x Aurora Blue cartridge

2 x Lamy Blue cartridges

4 x Pilot Black cartridges

5 x Parker Quink Black cartridges

3 x unknown blue cartridges, believed to be long internationals

Please PM to enter, stating who the cartridges are intended for and why you/your nomination is a good home for them. Entries to be received by 17.00 GMT on 28th January.

Hey, you've gotten your DREAM already. Might be time to take a sabbatical from fountain pens, and reassess your collection. :roflmho:
