Pay It Forward 2013

Yes, it's a couple days, early, but, allow me to get the next one started! If you have something to pass along to another fountain pen lover, please, post it here!

ETA: Moderator's Note

For those who may not be familiar with Pay it Forward, it's something that has run for the last few years on FPN. Here's the details.

Got anything you'd like to give away rather than sell? This is the place. Members who have pens or related items they'd like to pass on and give away will have a home here, should they want one. Please remember to state if you're only willing to ship the item within your own country. Members who claim stuff shouldn't feel that they need to have something of their own to pass on immediately, though. Even if it's years later, the magic should still work. It all comes back - eventually!

To start 2013, I would like to Pay It Forward to someone, who is probably not a regular on these boards - a child still in school. My hope is that one of you knows a young writer (or is a young writer), who could benefit from such and would be willing to help me arrange a PiF, through you.

Thank you!

Edit: Please send a PM to get in touch with me

I will give this package to the first college or highschool student who responds. This will be international with me paying all shipping costs. What we have here is a bottle of Lamy ink, a Noodlers Ahab flex pen, two black and red notebooks, one Clairefontaine notebook, one Clairefontaine Triomphe A5. Happy New Year!

Wow! Happy New Year! I am not in college, so, no entries for me, but that is a nice gift. I love the black n red notebooks, even if some of my inks are less enthused about it - just a delight to write on. Whoever wins this will be a fortunate person, indeed!

I've got some rubber plugs from McMaster-Carr to give away, for resealing cartridges after re-filling them. I've got a few large ones that should fit Pilot cartridges, while the smaller ones should fit international cartridges.

I also have a mouse pad with a nice picture of a Pelikan Souverän on it, if anyone's interested. :)

Will ship to anywhere in the world.

Alright, one more pen I need to let go for a reasonable price...free. The only reason I'm giving it away is that it doesn't fit my writing style (too heavy) and I have too many pens at this point. This particular pen is a Conway Stewart "Trafalgar" LE 11/500 limited edition with an 18K gold nib. This pen is absolutely stunning to look at and writes just as good with its medium nib. In flawless condition (minus box). Call me crazy but I would rather give it to a good home than sell it. Go ahead and research this pen...they are rarely for sale.

Now here are the rules: to be eligable, you must have at least one child between the age of 1-18 and not have a pen in your collection valued above 150 dollars. For obvious reasons, If you have the means to spend 300+ on a pen please do not enter this raffle...If you do, St Nibious will surely frown upon you for many years to come:) The first person meeting this criteria to message me after the stroke of Midnight Tonight Central US time will receive pen. I will check after I get back from toasting in the New Year.

Happy New Year All!

My friend, that is a very magnanimous gesture on your part. Congratulations in advance to the winner, and good tidings on you for being such a fine person. Happy New Year!

Renfield has won this pen. I guess the eligible fountain pen lovers in the U.S. were either sleeping or partying. lol This pen will be going to my homeland...200 years removed...Ireland.

Congrats Renfield!

Thanks for being so quick about creating a new PIF thread.

I've added the PIF instructions to the first post of this thread so that everyone has an idea of where to start.

Happy New Year!

I'd like to give away this Pelikano P480 (M nib) and a matching converter (not pictured):

I'd like it to go to someone who is just beginning to use fountain pens or thinks about beginning and isn't quite convinced yet, ideally a school child.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll draw a random winner on Sunday. Good luck!

The rules state: " To be eligable, you must have at least one child between the age of 1-18 and not have a pen in your collection valued above 150 dollars."

Maybe you were eligable to enter...the amazing thing is, I only had one entry that met the criteria. That being said...who would want to send a PM for a silly pen at the stroke of midnight on New Years. Ah silly me, I will make things more interesting when I give away my 1990 Montblanc 149 that is just too bulky for my tastes. *hint to all*

Best Regards, Russ
