M1000 Gekko And Kyokko

At last I got Pelikan M1000 Kyokko(Sunlight) after the acquisition of M1000 Gekko(Moonlight)

with a mammoth debt. I think I have fallen under a magic spell and have lost control of myself.

But they are too captivating.

So these are the same as the original Gekko and Kyokko based on the M800, except for the size?

How many of these are made? Also 200 of both?

Lovely pen, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Why can you already buy the Sunlight in Japan? That's just mean. It's a German pen! :gaah:

Only kidding - beautiful pens! Around here the Sunlight won't be available until February/March, which is just as well since it gives me some time to save up for it. ;)

I own the two M800 Kyokko and Gekko and the M1000 Gekko, they were made by the same raden master. But I found the raden lines are narrower in the new M1000 Kyokko and the signature is the name of the society instead of the master's name. I think M1000 Kyokko is made by the other master but does not show the name. God, I will go to Japan next month.

I do not have M800Gekko nor Kyokko. So I do not know the details in my presence. But I have heard that

there are several differences. There are no raden nor Maki-e on the cap top of M1000 Gekko and Kyokko .

The trim of M1000 Gekko is golden color. I am disappointed in these points.

The artist of M1000 Kyokko is a group of artisits named Hoshukai led by Mr. Mushu Yamazaki while the

artist of M800Gekko,Kyokko and M1000Gekko is Mr.Norio Matsuda.

The number of M1000 Kyokko is 300 while that of M1000Gekko is 200.

There is a very interesting picture in the blog of Mr.Mushu Yamazaki.

( halfway stage of assembling of M1000 Kyokko)

I have heard that 120 Kyokkos are assigned for Japanese market and 180 are for the rest of the world.

But it seems that M1000 Kyokko are now almost sold out in Japan.

Regarding the creator, please see #7.

Great pens! Especially the Sunlight. Thanks for the interesting information and the link to the Yamazaki-blog.

Also interesting is the picture in this blog of the Pelikan Unique Collection pens he has made (see the bottom of the blog).

The orange pen on that picture is the Ocean Mystery. In October sold by Pelikan for EUR 9500 and now for sale on eBay USA at $ 40000, about EUR 30000.

I wonder if its gonna be sold. The oktober selling was an auction so I would think the price paid shows what people who buy those pens think its worth. Else the price would have been higher in the first place. Also it wasn't really a hard peace to obtain except for the price. Its not like a MB one of pen or Patek limited edition were u had to be a known customer of the factory. Everyone could participate in the auction.

I think its more like this is the price the owner is willing to let it go for. And he puts it on ebay just to be sure. Myself I did so (on a whole different price scale) with my leica M lenses since those have been quit hard to obtain for the last few years. Some had a waiting list for a year. Not really willing to sell my lens, but if someone really wants it and gives the right price (at least more that I paid for) he can have it.

After getting a bit comes the second and hardest part, letting go. I couldn't at the end :)

I think it will be sold but not at this price, a potential buyer will google this pen and find out in no time. But you can always negotiate. Martini is a very professional seller so maybe she not only wants to sell this pen but also wants to attract attention to her business. With success :D

Ok, didn't understand its martini who sells. Great advertising indeed ;)

Wow, amazing. Those look too radiant to be photographed.

I want to take pictures of M1000 Gekko under real moonlight and M1000 Kyokko under real sunlight.

But I have only low-priced digital compact camera. I have poured my almost all pocket money into

fountain pens.

It seems that the above 120 is wrong and 100 is right, that is, 100 is for Japanese market. I am sorry.

Can add some more pictures for the Moonlight - the Sunlight isn't available for another 1-2 months around here so that will have to wait (which I rather enjoy and gives me the chance to fund it by saving up and selling other stuff - because I personally feel that going into debt is perfectly all right when there's something important going on, which doesn't include pens).

While waiting for the Sunlight (and not only the pen, some real sunlight would be nice for a change over here) I like to use my Namiki Yozakura Raden which, I think, uses the same hues of Raden: purple, lilac, even yellow.
