Sailor Nibs Comparison And Japanese Famous Pen Craftsman

Thanks for the video. I have a few Sailors (21k Naginata Togi MF and H-B as well as 14k H-M). I like them all, each in its own way. Another video you put up made me think about getting a Concord or Cross Concord (or Cross Concord Emperor--though the overfeed seems like overkill for my purposes). I'm rather attracted to the idea of a moderately fine point when used "right-side-up" and a broad "upside-down". I don't want it the other way around since I would want the side I use most to be the "right-side-up" side. I feel a little "upside-down" myself when I flip a fountain pen over. :)

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

Thanks for the comment. ahah hah, I sometimes think so, too.

BTW, have you ever tried Namiki falcon?

If you wirites with the pen, you can write both fine and broad line

just with right-side-up like "Nooder's Ahab". :)

Wow, really! ^^/ I use a Namiki Falcon instead of an ink brush (Fude). :)

I have a Falcon too, and I just tried that trick you showed, using it reversed. Very cool! Thanks for the tip!

Hi MJ,

If you use this tip, you can do the drawing well!!

In Japan, it is extremely hard to get this pen, so

many people tend to buy Elabo instead of Falcon.

Nice nib!

I do the upside down trick with my Pilot MYU701 - good for writing large letters on big signs like DO NOT DISTURB. But no flex at all.

Still one of my favoutite pens. Amazing design.

Great videos. Thanks.

Enjoy!

Oh, you have Myu 701!? I think it's a really beautiful streamline-pen. :)

Excellent ahading on some of those inks.

Did your pens all write that well out of the box, or did they need adjustment? Again, thanks.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Thanks, Kenshin. Of course, they do NOT need adjustment at all

because Sailor nibs (from EF to NB) are definitely smooth to

write kanji or alphabet even just after unboxing. :)

Excellent! I think it's finally time to get that Zoom nib.

Sounds pretty good. It'll be worth getting.

Best wishes for a happy new year! :)

Your pictures are wonderful too!! Anyway, I would love to buy myself a lovely new Sailor pen.. a simple one with a Naginata Togi Medium Fine nib. Gotta go hunt on Engeika... NMF is rare on standard bodies here! You only get them on models like Susutake and all. Which is a pity! I'm out for the utilitarianism.
