Sailor Nibs Comparison And Japanese Famous Pen Craftsman

Wonderful! Thanks.

Was this video made recently? A while ago I heard that the company stopped making pens, but perhaps that was just a rumor.

I used to have some of his pens, but I sold them. The pen bodies were very beautiful, but in my opinion the quality of the nibs and sections were not so high. Because the writing experience, i.e. nib quality, is for me the most important aspect of fountain pens, I found that I didn't use them very much.

It is not a RUMOR...

The company has stopped making fountain pens because

Mr. Kato passed away in 2010. So I feel so sorry.

Today, Mr. Onishi takes over the role of Mr. Kato. :)

Ah, I see. Thanks.

Some fresh materials there! Unique and beautiful. Are they celluloid?

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.--Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis", 1776

This is fantastic. Thank you for the videos, VirtuThe3rd.

Do you think there is a video hidden somewhere in the National Museum of Japanese History about the making of Sailor nibs?

I have been studying the potential role of fountain pens in my own life for a long time! ^^

Cheers, Derek

Thank you very much for your comment. :)

No. There is not a video about the making of Sailor nibs

in the National Museum of Japanese History, actually.

Sailor has its own archive.

I'm not sure I can order.

I'm trying to register but I can't tell that my country is France...And I don't find the contact link.

I can't translate everything with Google

When I ask the language to be in english I can't write and I loose the page.

Thanks.

You are more than welcome. :)

Thanks!

I'm so sorry, but the shop doesn't ship internationally.

I wish you could purchase Japanese great products via this shop... :(

Hi VirtuThe3rd, are the pen linked on the first post ( those sailor profit standard" 21k nibs? I'm trying to decide whether I should get a platinum 3776 century , sailor 1991 standard or pilot custom 92. Hard to decide :D

Just got my first bottle of iroshizuku ink this morning and I'm trying to get a Japanese fountain pen to match the ink :roflmho:

Congratulations on your first getting Iroshizuku ink!

If it is brightly-colored ink, you should purchase Pilot

custom heritage 92 because they're all transparent. :)

Enjoy color of the ink!!

There are reshipping companies that will transfer your money and forward the pen to you, but there are fees for their service. Some years ago I used one to buy a couple of pens from Kato. Otherwise, if you know someone in Japan you could ask him/her to help you.

I do know about proxy-shopping, but their fees + potential custom VAT,duty made it......

Which pen case?? I always carry around two pen cases.

One is Maggiore, another is DELTA Markiaro.

Yes I found Markiaro to be not only very finely crafted but also has the most modern styling and more importantly doesn't corrode silver like other famous Italian cases.

CURRENT: Konrad, Ahab, Ice Sport, 205 Red + Demo blue + yellow, Bon Voyage, Custom Heritage 92 Blue, Sapporo, Modelo T - Black, Etruria Rainbow Yellow, Etruria Voyeur, Pearlette, Emotica, Olympio Midi, 360 Turquois Demo, TWSBI Mini and counting...

Exactly! :)

When people all over the world hear the word "Italy", the first

things they think about are well manufactured leather products

like Markiaro. I do like it.

You like old school stuff like fountain pen so you also like old school anime like Dragon Ball and this movie which happens to be an excellent reinterpretation of the classic DB (not DBZ). Good taste... though I prefer the new Saint Seiyas :roflmho:
